Chapter 4

The next morning Aether wakes up a bit sore from yesterday's events, but he manages to get out of bed to take a shower. Staring at himself in the mirror he blushes as he sees all the marks the alpha left behind on his body.

He then puts on his school uniform and ties up his hair in a ponytail instead of his usual braid, reaching for the new perfume Albedo told him to use. He sprays some on his neck and on his clothes, trying his best to mask his natural scent.

By the time he's out the front door, he realizes that Lumine is nowhere to be seen and she must've already left without him. She must still be angry at him since she hasn't talked to him ever since that night he yelled at her. Well, unless she apologizes to him he wasn't gonna try to get her to talk to him. Two can play the silent game.

Once he's at school he goes straight for his locker, taking out the books he will need for the day. In his mind he replays yesterday's events, and how he wouldn't mind spending some time with Albedo again...

Speaking of the alpha, the omega notices him across the hall talking to a blonde girl with twin pigtails who everyone knows is an omega; and as Aether's eyes land on Albedo's face he notices the usual smirk he gives him. Except it's not directed at him this time. He's looking down at the blushing girl, who seems to mumble something at him as she nods her head.

Aether sees the alpha's hand go up to touch her arm, pushing her against the wall to continue flirting with her.

Having seen enough Aether is left feeling crushed, he looks away and instead chooses to stare hard onto his own locker. Of course Albedo can do whatever he pleases it's not like they're dating or anything... yesterday was only them messing around and having fun. So why does he feel this way? He hears the school bell ring but he doesn't move an inch. The image of the alpha and that girl flirting can't leave his mind.

I guess I just felt like I was special to him... Aether's eyes fill with tears, but it's stupid to think that when he made it so very clear that he just wanted to fuck me.

He feels a hand touch his shoulder and he turns to see it's his sister looking down at him. She has a sneer on her face and he already knows what she's gonna say before she even opens her mouth.

"I told you all these Alphas want is to have their way with you and then move on to the next." Lumine gives his shoulder a hard squeeze, "I'm sad for you brother, that you have to go through this. But to live in a world where you are an omega in a place full of alphas and betas that only want you for one thing... I'd rather die than live like that."

She pauses and smirks down at him, "But thank god you're posing as a beta. It will save you the trouble of bumping into other guys like Albedo. Keep it that way Aeth." She turns around and walks down the now empty hall.

Aether doesn't try to go after her, because in the end, he knows she's right.

He doesn't care when he gets caught for skipping class and given detention. He'll just try to figure out an excuse to tell his parents later. It doesn't matter now, all he can think about is the words Lumine said to him.

In lunch he tries his best to talk to Fischl and Bennett but they notice how unusually quiet he is. The blonde beta throws a hand over his shoulder, "If anything is going on you can tell the both of us Aeth."
