Chapter 8

Sorry for the wait, these past few days have been busy for me and this chapter is pretty long. No smut this time I'm sorry, hopefully the next one will have some but I can't promise anything hehe :)

Aether slams face down on his bed as soon as he makes it inside his room. Sobs take over his shaking body, fat tears soaking the bedsheets below him. Never would he had thought that his parents would lay a hand on him or that his own mom would call him a slut. No matter how true it was.

Now he was supposed to go to school as an omega? Do his parents have an idea how dangerous that could be for him? All these years protecting him just to throw it all out the window the second they find out Aether has been with a few alphas—courtesy of his dear sister. Yeah they could be worried that he might get pregnant but he's not that stupid.... okay maybe just a little bit....

But isn't it their fault for not looking after Aether better? They could've avoided all of this if they'd told him from the beginning of how he's actually an omega—but instead they throw all the blame on him and ground him from going anywhere anymore; and they make him go to school as an omega as well! How genius of them.

The dangerous situations he's been through make it obvious enough it's not safe for him. Almost getting raped, the two guys that almost kidnapped him so they could sell him after they had their way with Aether... did his parents ever think that maybe those things could happen to their son? Did Lumine ever wonder what it's like to be in his shoes?

Aether almost wants to get up and go tell them about everything that has happened to him, but he knows it will be useless. The second he tries to get a word out they'll try to punish him even worse, like try to take his phone away for example. Which he's grateful for at least since that means he could let Xiao and their double date know that he won't be able to go any longer.

As much as he has been looking forward to it, he was also nervous because he didn't know Xiao that well and after what happened with Kazuha it only worsened it. Made him realize that he doesn't really know someone as he thought he did.

Replaying what happened with Kazuha only made the omega more upset. Did that alpha get off with humiliating him? He could've just warned Aether not to double cross Xiao and his brother but he had to say those filthy words as well... It made the blonde angry that he couldn't just stand up for himself at that moment.

Blinking the tears away, Aether sits up and unlocks his phone. He tries to type in his text to let Xiao and Hu Tao know that he won't be able to make it tomorrow but every time he tries to form it into words he deletes it. They'll probably ask him why he can't and it will only complicate things... maybe I should just not say anything until tomorrow.. that should explain things enough.

Aether later joins his parents and Lumine in the most uncomfortable dinner ever. It's quiet as he takes his seat next to Lumine, and his parents can't even look at him—probably too embarrassed or angry at him to do so. He can't stand being there for any longer so he eats everything quickly and excuses himself.

Once he's back in his room he tries to pass the time by playing on his switch to avoid terrible thoughts of what might happen tomorrow. Everything is gonna be different from now on, and that scared Aether. Even if the school tries to keep the secret of a male omega attending under wraps, they can't exactly keep everyone's mouths shut; so no matter what it was gonna be out there in the open for anyone to know and that's what scared Aether the most.

That night he tossed and turned in his bed as he tried to sleep, but those thoughts kept replaying in his head until it was all he could think about. Aether tried hard to shove those thoughts away and replace them with anything else and that was enough for him to finally fall into deep sleep.
