Aether feels so much warmth waking up, like he's never felt before not even in the winter when he stacks all his fuzzy warm blankets. But that was because he was squished between two alphas who's chests were against him.

Oddly it wasn't too uncomfortable for him and because of that he ended up falling back into slumber and into a peaceful dream.

He wakes up again, and he knows it's morning with the way the sun shines in and casts its light into the room. He's alone this time though and it feels normal enough until the realization dawns on him for the second time, and he shoots up into a sitting position, wincing when he feels the sting on his butt.

Walking into the kitchen he finds Xiao cooking something on the stove, most likely breakfast.

"Kazuha and Heizou left already." The alpha says, and he doesn't have to turn to see that Aether has walked in.

"Oh? What about you?" The omega sits down on the stool in front of the kitchen island facing Xiao.

The alpha turns off the stove, taking a plate next to him and preparing it with the breakfast he made. He puts it down in front of the blonde, "I didn't want you to be alone."

Aether smiles, "Thank you. For the breakfast and for.. staying."

Xiao nods. "It's the least I can do. I know it must be hard for you right now."

"Yeah. Losing a close friend kinda sucks." Aether stabs his fork onto the pancake and brings it up to his mouth.

"Is that all he was? Not even a lover?" Xiao wonders.

"...I did start to form some feelings for him.. but it's done now. I don't think he'll ever forgive me." Aether brushes away a tear before the alpha could see it, and turns to him, "Let's not... talk about that please."

The alpha nods.

Honestly neither of them have anything planned for the rest of the day, and Xiao doesn't plan to show up in school any time soon. He already didn't have enough time with Aether the previous night so he was gonna take advantage of their time then.

Kazuha and Heizou had important matters to attend to so it was just the two of them for the next couple of hours.

They end up sitting on the living room couch, putting on a show on the TV to watch. There was close to no space between them left, as they were pressed to one another and Xiao didn't mind being a comfortable human blanket for the other male.

"Does Heizou go to our school? I've never seen him before."

"He's from another county actually. But he's staying as an exchange student starting the new semester." Xiao explains, his hand rubbing his skin in soothing circles. "You'll probably see a lot of other new faces since he won't be the only one."

Aether is surprised, "Really? Then how do you guys know him if he's from another country?"

"We played video games online with him I'm not gonna lie. We offered to let him stay here until he's done studying. But if he wants to stay longer it's up to him."

"Does he even know who I am...?" Aether gets off Xiao's lap to sit next to him so he can look at the alpha, "I kinda feel a little weird since... he..." the omega can't even finish his sentence, already getting flustered.
