April 6
Yujin, Chenle and Jisung were huddled in the corner of the couch, staring at the screen of the laptop. Their own reflection was all they could see while they waited for the video call to connect.
After Chenle had returned from his day-trip to the city, the trio had had to wait for two more days to contact the others for the first time because of the instructions given to Chenle by his father's security contact.
"I'm sure that everything's okay", Chenle mumbled quietly but his fingers were fidgeting with the charger of the laptop.
The laptop screen froze for a moment and Jisung inhaled sharply in anticipation.
Yujin's stomach turned when the call connected, and suddenly the laptop screen was filled with a large group of guys.
Some of the guys started yelling immediately, pointing towards the laptop and the three people sitting on a Norwegian couch. Their features were partially pixelated but still Yujin could recognize them.
Taeil was sitting close to the screen. There was Jungwoo, Renjun, and Haechan. Mark was behind some of the others.
Yujin's throat felt tight.
"How is-"
A cacophonous choir interrupted her fearful question.
"Jeno is awake!"
Yujin, Chenle and Jisung relaxed. Everyone on the other side cheered. Yujin was too relieved to react loudly - the joy that reached her soul was the quiet kind, followed by aching need to be by Jeno's side and see him personally.
Taeil smiled when he saw how they took the news. "He's in the hospital and he'll have to stay there for a bit longer, maybe even a month if the recovery is slow", he explained. He then seemed to reconsider his words and hurried to continue with a cheery voice. "But you know, if the police is fast enough with the investigation and manages to apprehend Park Sunyoung's most important subordinates quickly, maybe you guys can be back home by the time Jeno is released."
The idea that Jeno might have to stay in hospital for a month sounded worrisome but Yujin did like the sound of being back in Seoul when he'd get home.
"What about Renjun?" Chenle asked, squinting to see the older Chinese guy better.
The loud happiness in the other end of the call diminished immediately, as if someone had pressed mute button.
Renjun scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "Asked by the three fugitives hiding in the Scandinavian countryside."
Chenle swallowed and Yujin patted his shoulder. Despite the biting tone, Renjun was clearly hurt.
"Scandinavia? I thought that they went to Norway", Lucas mumbled to Mark.

April 21
Yujin closed the front door behind her and took off her warm coat. It was 3am and still dark outside, though the sun would be rising in a few hours.
She had had another set of nightmares filled with death, cold and dimly lit rooms and gunshots, and ended up taking a walk in the surroundings of the lonely house to dissolve some of the anxiety. She hadn't seen a single person on her walk - though, to be fair, she rarely did even when she went out during daytime. Chenle's family's vacation home was located near a small village called Beisfjord but far enough that they rarely ran into people accidentally.
Yujin loved it but she hated it.
Someone turned on the living room lights.
"Yo, do you wanna watch Psycho?"
