"You'll sleep in the bed. I've exploited your kindness enough already", Yujin announced as soon as Jeno told her that she could have his bed and he'd sleep on the couch after everyone decided to go back to bed.
Renjun scoffed.
"Stop that", Jeno told her, crossing his muscular arms over his chest. "You're wounded, you need to sleep well in order to get better and you know it."
Yujin leaned against the back of her chair.
"Don't be silly. I slept for an entire day. Besides, I'm smaller than you so I don't need as much space", she argued."Did you just call Jeno-ya fat?" Haechan gasped in feigned horror.
"Go back to bed already, Donghyuk-ah", Jeno ordered him.
Haechan grinned sneakily. "Oh, do you guys want some privacy?"Everyone else in the room sighed collectively, even Renjun, and momentarily Yujin felt like this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Then he looked at her like she was a suspiciously wet sock he had found from the public toilet, and she decided to not to be too optimistic about it.
Haechan started humming something that sounded like an overly romantic BGM.
Jeno ignored his antics and instead turned to Yujin.
"You're our guest - "
"That's debatable", Renjun mumbled, interrupting Jeno.Jeno's mouth became a tight line.
"You're our guest", he started over, emphasizing every word, "and as your host, we'll have to offer you a proper place to sleep in.""I want to sleep on the couch", Yujin answered. "I have already caused enough harm, and I don't want to add your backpain to that list."
"Christ, just let her sleep on the couch", Renjun joined the argument. He sounded exasperated. "You know that the couch is too short for you."
"Exactly!" Yujin supported his point wholeheartedly and even pointed at his direction in case Jeno didn't know who she was agreeing with.
"You haven't even seen the couch", Haechan pointed out.Jeno stared at Yujin for a moment.
"Fine", he said. "You can have the couch.""Remember to bring it back by next Tuesday, though", Haechan, of course, had to interfere once again. "We'll need it for our movie night."
"It truly is a never-ending commentary, isn't it?" Yujin muttered.
She followed Jeno through the kitchen to the dark living room of the apartment. It was a spacious, sensibly decorated room with two couches, a couple of armchairs and a beanbag taking most of the space, and multiple simple stools stacked on top of each other in one corner.
"You have a lot of chairs", she commented while Jeno kneeled in front of one of the couches and pulled out a drawer that was underneath it.
"If everyone's visiting at the same time, there's 20 of us, plus the girlfriends of some of the guys", he told her as he took out a bedding set from the drawer before pushing it back in.
"True", Yujin hummed. Somehow, she always forgot how big of group they had.
She tried to help Jeno while he put a sheet on her blanket but he didn't let her, so she sat down on the couch and placed the pillow on her lap instead.
"Thanks for... You know. Everything", she spoke quietly and didn't look up from the pillow. The guilt for causing so much trouble was building a nest inside her brain. "I really appreciate it."
Jeno was still fighting with the blanket but stopped when he heard her words.
"Anytime, noona", he said. His narrow eyes were sincere. "We've got your back."
