"He went this way!" someone shouted in the distance.

Jisung was woken up from his shock and Yujin finally understood what was going on.

"They're chasing you?" she whispered.

The fear in his eyes answered her question.

There was no time to think about different options, and Yujin made up her mind before she even thought her decision through, pointing to the left from the crossroads they were in.

"Go hide behind that car trailer", she told him, pointing towards an empty trailer that had been parked next to the buildings on one side of the road. "I'll distract them."

Jisung stared at her. Suspicion was evident in his eyes.

"Go now!" she hissed. "Otherwise, they'll find you and start to suspect me too."

Her words convinced him and he obeyed, running to the direction she had pointed.

Five seconds after Jisung had disappeared behind the car trailer, a bunch of huffing men rounded a corner and ran towards Yujin, who was getting up from the ground. Their loud, aggressive approach scared her but she forced the harvest mouse to lay low. These people weren't searching for her.

"That little shit", she said to herself, loudly enough for the men to hear her before running past her.

One of the men stopped to look at Yujin who had finally managed to stand up.

"Are you alright, miss?" he asked, "Did you happen to see a young guy a moment ago?"

Yujin huffed, hoping that they wouldn't see through her act. "Hell, if I did, right when he ran into me", she glared at the men, "Is he your friend?"

The man, a middle-aged dude in his late forties, made a disgusted face when he heard her accusing question.

"Something like that", one of the others commented elusively. They probably didn't want to tell outsiders that they were trying to harm a kid. "Did you happen to see where he went?"

"There", Yujin answered right away, pointing behind her. "There and then he turned right from the first crossroads, after that pharmacy."

"Thank you, miss", the spokesman said, bowing to her briefly. "Get home safely, it's not good for you to stay out on your own this late."

Yujin lifted the corners of her mouth. If only you knew, she thought.

She squatted down to pick up her water bottle and granola bars that had scattered around when Jisung had ran into her. When she was certain that the men were long gone, she turned left and approached the lonely car trailer carefully.

"It's me", she whispered just in case before peeking over the corner. Jisung was sitting against the back of the trailer and faced her with suspicious eyes. It was surprising that he had really listened to her and stayed put instead of running off.

"Did they go away already?" he asked softly.

Yujin nodded and sat down as well - she was starting to feel drowsy. Jisung's eyes widened.

"They went to a completely different direction so you should be safe now", she told him, leaning against the trailer. It felt cold against her denim jacket. Though, it actually wasn't her jacket. She didn't own a denim jacket. "Were they hunters? How did they find you?"

Jisung hesitated for a moment before opening his mouth.

"It was a reminder and punishment from the boss", he said, looking at his shoes.
