Damn you, Chenle, was the first thought in Yujin's mind when she woke up, even before she was fully aware of her surroundings or capable to recognize why such thought had entered her head.
A loud, sharp burst of laughter answered that question before she opened her eyes, so when she finally managed to force them open, she knew which direction to glare at.
Chenle was standing in the doorway of the living room and he was cackling as if he had never seen anything funnier. He was holding his phone in front of him, taking pictures or videotaping, enjoying every second of Yujin's baffled yet annoyed state.
"It's not that funny", Renjun's voice commented from the kitchen.
Chenle, however, seemed to think that the fact that he had found Yujin and Jeno from the living room, sleeping in each other's arms, was the best thing to happen that year. It was true, that the way in which Yujin's head was still tucked underneath Jeno's chin, his arms were encircled her body, and their legs were intertwined like the roots of two trees that had grown too close to each other, was rather intimate but still Yujin agreed with Renjun. It wasn't that funny.
Carefully Yujin tried to pull away from Jeno's warm embrace but he mumbled something incoherent and didn't want to let go.
"Aww, that's cute!" Chenle cooed. "Haechan is going to be so sad that he missed this."
"That's creepy", Yujin said, as she tried to pry herself away from Jeno without waking him up, and was determined to ignore how hot her face felt. She refused to believe that she was blushing.
Jeno still wouldn't let go.
"Stay there, I'll go get Haechan!" Chenle announced after following Yujin's escape attempts for a moment.
"Don't you dare!" Yujin threatened but he was already gone.
"Can you make sure that they don't move?" she could hear Chenle ask from Renjun.
The other guy scoffed. "No."
Yujin turned to look at Jeno's calm face.
"Wake up and let me go!" she whispered loudly, pulling his hands that were behind her back.
Finally, Jeno's eyes opened and Yujin froze in her place, her fingers still over his hands. She had been too busy trying to get away to actually realize how close to each other they were. Now that he was awake and staring at her, her cheeks felt even warmer than before. His eyes were filled with sparks again.
"What if I don't want to?" he asked softly. A hint of redness found its way to his cheeks and ears.
Yujin blinked. At the same time, her head felt both empty and filled with panicking, exciting, scary, happy thoughts.
"I don't know", she managed to say. Her heart was beating erratically.
They stared each other and Yujin was oddly aware of her entire body, especially those parts that were touching Jeno. She looked at his eyes but he was staring at her lips instead. Her fingers were trembling against his wrists. She really wanted to touch his face. He leaned a bit closer. She could barely breathe.
The sound of a door slamming shut somewhere in the apartment startled them both.
"They're coming!" Yujin uttered when she remembered what was going on outside the bubble around them.
Jeno's expression changed immediately and in a blink of an eye, and accompanied by a thud, Yujin found herself sprawled on the floor.
"Ow", she muttered as she sat up, rubbing her lower back. Pushing her off the couch had definitely been an overreaction from him.
