Newfound Love [Asta x Noelle]

Chapter 6- A new mission!

It was in the afternoon. Noelle and Asta had returned to the hideout. They were greeted by Yami at the door.

"You lovebirds sure took your time. I should've known not to let two hormonal teenage brats out alone." He said.

"I'm a man!!" Asta said. He really hated being called a child.

"We weren't gone that long, We were only gone two or three hours" Noelle said.

"Exactly. Two or three hours too long." Yami said looking angry.

"Do you need us for something?" Noelle asked.

"I've got a mission for you, you'll be gone a couple days" Yami said.

"But captain, isn't this cutting it a little too short. Y'know... it's the end of the month. We might run out of time..." Asta said.

"If you get things done quick we won't. Besides, you aren't going alone."Yami said.

"We aren't?" Noelle asked.

"Well first of all, I'm sending you to to uncover a rare magic item. This is coming directly from the Wizard king" Yami said as he lit a new cigarette.

"The details?" Noelle said.

"I was getting to that. A rare magic item was stolen from him a long time ago. Recently we've been given details on where it's been hidden. It seems as though it's been hidden in a dungeon." Yami said.

"Right, who's being sent?" Asta asked

"Well the two of you if course, then there's Nero and Vanessa. I thought it would be useful to have some one with sealing magic in case something needed to be unlocked or unsealed. I also thought it'd made sense to have Vanessa watch over your backs so you don't do anything stupid." Yami said.

"We're both turning 22 this year and you still don't think we're responsible?" Asta chuckled.

"I know you aren't responsible" Yami said smirking.

"Maybe Dorksta isn't, but I'm pretty responsible" Noelle chuckled.

"I wouldn't entrust a mission to a dungeon to a kid who can't even handle making a simple sandwich" Yami smirked.

[For people wondering this isn't Yami being sexist, there was an episode where Noelle makes a sandwich and it was an absolute mess]

"I'll have you know that was years ago and my cooking has improved." Noelle said as she crossed her arms and looked to the side in frustration.

Asta laughed.

"So, when are we leaving?" Asta asked.

"I want you to leave first thing tomorrow at  sunrise. I've already let Nero and Vanessa know about this mission. So pack your stuff and get ready. Vanessa has all the big details and where to go" Yami said as he snuffed out his cigarette.

"Right" Asta said wafting away the smoke.

Yami simply walked away after that.

"I was really looking forward to a week off" Noelle said disappointed.

"It'll be over faster than you know it!" Asta said.

"Yeah but now we don't have any time to just the two of us-" Noelle said as she pouted.

Asta chuckled. "It's fine Noelle, we can still spend time together when we aren't fighting while we're there" He said patting her head.

"I guess" Noelle replied.

"If it bothers you so much then let's spend more time together while we still can" Asta said.

"What would we even do?" Noelle asked.

Asta thought for a second. "Uh, let's train!" Asta said.

"And here I was thinking you were about to say something romantic" Noelle chuckled.

"We can do something else?" Asta said.

"This is fine" Noelle said as she walked back out of the door. "But not until late because I want to get sleep for tomorrow" Noelle said.

"It's gonna be a piece of cake!! We've gotten tons stronger since our last dungeon. Taking it easy isn't so bad with easy missions like these" Asta said.

"Don't be too cocky" Noelle laughed.

Asta took her hand. "Come on we're wasting time" He chuckled as he ran.

"Hey don't grab me so suddenly!" she said blushing.

Asta chuckled "You're so cute when you're mad" He teased.

Noelle looked away in embarrassment.

The two trained outside together for a few hours before eating and going to bed. They needed to be ready for their next mission.
