Newfound Love [Asta x Noelle]

Arc 3: Chapter 2- investigation.

"Long time no see, you dork" Yuno said, grinning slightly.

Asta looked at his friend, he'd changed a lot. Asta was almost as tall as him, and his hair looked more more neat. Seemed as though being king wasn't as easy as it looked as he looked pretty tired.

"Is it just me or have you gotten shorter!" Asta teased.

"No, seems by some odd miracle you've somehow grown a little" Yuno said, walking towards them from the back of the room.

They shared a laugh. It had been 4 whole years, they were raised like brothers. No matter how much time passed their bond remained the same.

"You're holding hands? What? Are you playing house?" Yuno teased.

Noelle blushed. Asta scratched his head nervously, he lightly let go of her hand and blushed.

"Well-" He tried to say.

"You guys are never any less awkward when trying to tell someone" Finral laughed.

"I get it, who'd of known an idiot like you would've ended up with royalty" Yuno said.

"Who'd of known a jerk like you'd of become royalty" Asta teased.

Enji then cut off their conversation. "I-I'm sorry to interrupt your reunion, but we really must be acting swiftly. I need to inform Asta about the mission" He said.

"Very well, we'll continue this conversation later. Do you mind telling them about the situation here?" Yuno asked.

"Not at all!" Enji said before turning to the bulls.

"What's going on?" Vanessa asked.

"Well, you see. To be completely honest we're aren't 100% sure what's at play here ourselves but really terrible things have been happening here mysteriously." Enji said.

"Could you expand on that?" Noelle asked.

"Yes. You see, multiple people are suddenly going missing here. That isn't normal here in the spade. Not only that, but there are also murders happening between family and close friends. We've had over 90 reports of murder this month alone." Enji said.

"That can't be coincidence. A number like that in the cities? I've never heard of such a thing" Asta said.

"We believe some one is pulling the strings, and called you in for investigation. If it turns out a person is responsible for this, we don't know how powerful they may be, or what sort of magic is being used. We've also had a few knights take this on and fail in the process. Do you think you could solve this case?" Enji asked.

"I know we can! Leave it to us!" Asta shouted.

"You sure sound excited" Vanessa said.

"If it turns out some one is doing this, and they are making people kill their close friends and family. I won't forgive them! I'm gonna put an end to them." Asta shouted.

Noelle smiled. "We all will dorksta" She said chuckling.

"Let's just hope you've grown brains too. If you're as smart as you were back then this is a lost cause" Yuno teased.

"It's been 4 years!! Don't underestimate me." Asta said.

"Oh uh, I forgot to say. You'll probably find this useful. I've listed some of the victims who were murdered. Here there's Information on relatives, where they lived and when they died. I've got a few copies" Enji said. Handing them over, as well as maps of the capitol.

"Yeah this is great, we have something to start off of atleast" Asta said.

"I'll leave this case to you then, you ought to start off by investigating in the capital. As for the night, I've arranged an inn for you." Yuno said.
