Newfound Love [Asta x Noelle]

Arc 3: Chapter 1- Aid.

"The situation is bad your majesty. We don't have any leads or clues as to what's going on but so many of our people are vanishing. Not only are people going missing, but there are multiple normal people randomly killing loved ones and family. It doesn't make sense. There must be some sort of work at play here."

"I'm aware. I've had numerous reports and messages. It's gotten really bad. Well in any case, I'm way to busy to handle this."

"Yes, our magic knights are occupied, that's why we can't leave this alone. Our people are going missing as we speak."

"I never intended to to leave it alone. As much as it pains me to say, it looks like I'm going to have to ask for some help. If I can't handle this, there's only one other person who can."

[A few days later]

The bulls were in the base as usual.

"You heard? There's gonna be a new wizard king" Magna said holding up a news paper.

"Wow, things really spread round fast..." Asta said to himself.

"It's strange to think there's going to be a new one but it makes sense. Since the current wizard king went public with the whole age spell thing it's become clear he's only been getting weaker." Magna said.

"Who do you think its going to be" Asta asked.

"Well, to be honest i think it's between Nozel and Fuegoleon" Noelle said as she walked into the room.

"I agree, those two have had a rivalry just like the one i had with Yuno" Asta said.

"Who're you rooting for Noelle?" Magna asked.

"I don't really care. Either are strong, reliable and worthy of being wizard king. I'm not at a bias point of view just because Nozel is my brother." Noelle said keeping a straight face. However, she secretly admired her older brother a lot, and she was definitely rooting for him.

They never expected the wizard king to be stepping down so soon, so it was way too early for Asta to be thinking about actually becoming wizard king. He had a lot to work on.

A couple knocks could be heard on the main door of the base. Asta ran up to the door as it opened.

"Leo?!" He said as he noticed a familiar face.

"Asta! It's been too long!" He said as he grinned.

"Totally!" Asta said smiling. He hadn't seen Leo since he left years ago. "Didn't word spread I came back? How come you never came to visit, it'd have been awesome to have a duel or something" Asta asked.

"I wanted to come by believe me! But I had a lot on my plate. I'll take you up on that duel sometime though, we're still rivals after all" Leo chuckled.

"For sure!" Asta chuckled.

"I heard the news, captain of the bulls already I see" Leo said.

"Yeah, it's a little weird to be honest but I'm one step closer to my dream! Things aren't all that different though. Things between me and my friends are all the same, it'd be really weird if they called me captain" Asta said.

"Yeah, leading a squad comes with a lot of responsibility too. I learnt that the hard way during the attack a while back, but I just know I'm ready now! Don't think just because they Yuno guy is gone you'll get to take it easy, you've still got me to beat as a rival. I'll get to your level then beyond that!" Leo said, chuckling.

"Then I'll just keep moving higher!" Asta chuckled. "What brings you here anyways Leo?" Asta asked.

"Actually carrying out orders from the wizard king. I have some news for you, and a letter I was told to give to you. A really special event is coming up and I'm delivering the message." Leo said.
