As Alexis approached the house, she heard JJ yell something about DCS and chuckled.
"Sup."
"Morning sunshine."
"Lex, what the fuck, I was worried- is that another bruise? You went back?"
"Relax, it's just a hickey."
"From who?" JJ didn't look pleased.
"You don't know him."
John B pulled her away from JJ.
"Alex, you said you would stop going to see him. And you said you'd stop with the coke."
"I also said my dad wouldn't hit me but here we are, times change."
The blonde boy grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of earshot of John B.
"Coke? Are you serious? What the fuck Lex?"
"You smoke."
"And you have an addictive personality."
"And I'm going to have a nap."
JJ groaned and gently grabbed the girls shoulders, "can we please talk about the kiss-"
"Look, stop. Just leave it alright, where are we going?"

"I'm just saying I don't understand why you don't try it with Kie. She clearly likes you."
"Just because she clearly likes him, note the unsure tone in my voice, doesn't mean she wants him, she hasn't taken any of his clear signs."
John B sighed from the back, making the blonde boy grin.
"John B man, you just gotta be persistent. There are some girls who don't know a good thing when it's right in front of them- no matter how many times it's been offered."
Alex brushed a hair out of her face, "you and Kie are good friends aren't you John B?"
He nodded, "Not like you know that, but go on."
"Well maybe she doesn't wanna jeopardise your friendship. Maybe she's never had a best friend like you before and that probably means a lot to her-"
JJ muttered something that sounded like 'friend zone' under his breath.
"-so don't take it personally, you just have to be patient."
"How patient?" JJ looked at her expectantly while John B looked slightly lost, "like if you had to put a time frame on it?"
"Guys I think-"
"And maybe, maybe there are other things going on in her life, and she's scared to be vulnerable, because if she lowers the walls she put up, she'll crumble."
"Guys-"
"Maybe she needs that good friend to cope, because he's all that's keeping her going."
John B sighed and started fiddling with the compass.
"Look we need to talk," JJ mumbled under his breath.
"No time we're here."
