I was helping Joey with her math as Amy and Andrea come back to the camp with tons of fish for the camp. "Oh, baby. Will you look at that? Hey, check it out. Ladies... Because of you my children will eat tonight. Thank you." Morales praises the two girls. "Thank Dale. It's his canoe and gear." Andrea jokes. "Mom, look. Look at all the fish." Carl says to Lori, causing Joey to look up in awe. "Yeah. Where did you two learn to do that?" Lori asks. "Our dad." Amy answers. "Can you teach me and Joey how to do that?" Carl asks looking at Joey. Amy nods, "Sure. I'll teach you all about nail knots and stuff. If that's okay" She says looking between Lori and I. "You won't catch us arguing." Lori answers and I nod agreeing with her. "Awesome." Joey says quietly. Dale comes over to us, and Andrea notices him ,"Hey, Dale. When's the last time you oiled those line reels? They are a disgrace." Dale looks around the group, "I, uh, I don't want to alarm anyone, but we may have a bit of a problem." Shane comes over and Dale points over the hill, where you can see Jim digging holes.

All of us walk up the hill and see that Jim is still digging holes. and let's just say they're large enough to fit a body. Shane steps closer to Jim, "Hey, Jim. Jim, why don't you hold up, all right? Just give me a second here, please." "What do you want?" Jim asks him rudely. "We're all just a little concerned, that's all." "Dale says you've been out here for hours." I speak up. "So?" Jim says looking back at me. "So why are you digging? Are you heading to China, Jim?" Shane laughed. Jim rolled his eyes, "What does it matter? I'm not hurting anyone."  "Yeah, except maybe yourself. It's a hundred degrees today. You can't keep this up." Dale points out.  "Sure I can. Watch me." Jim says putting the shovel back to the dirt. Lori steps forward, "Jim, they're not gonna say it so I will. You're scaring people. You're scaring my son and Carol and Madison's daughters." Jim turns back to the group, "They got nothing to be scared of. I mean, what the hell, people? I'm out here by myself. Why don't you all just go and leave me the hell alone?"  "We think that you need to take a break, okay? Why don't you go and get yourself in the shade? Some food maybe. I'll tell you what... maybe in a little bit I'll come out here and help you myself. Jim, just tell me what it's about. Why don't you just go ahead and give me that shovel?" Shane asks calmly. "Or what?" Jim challenges. Shane laughs, "There is no or what. I'm asking you. I'm coming to you and I'm asking you, please. I don't want to have to take it from you." Jim laughs, "And if I don't, then what? Then you're gonna beat my face in like Ed Peletier, aren't you? Y'all seen his face, huh? What's left of it. See, now that's what happens when someone crosses you. Your wife and child should be scared of you." I look away. "That was different, Jim." Shane sighs. "You weren't there. Ed was out of control. He was hurting his wife." Andrea says trying to knock some sense into Jim. "That is their marriage! That is not his. He is not judge and jury. Who voted you king boss, huh?" Jim yells. Shane sighs and rubs his chin, "Jim, I'm not here to argue with you, all right? Just give me the shovel, okay?" Jim shakes his head. Shane steps forward reaching his hand out, "Just give me the--Jim!" Jim shoves Shane away and then threatens to hit him with it. Shane tackles Jim to the ground. "Okay, shh shh." Shane tries to soothe Jim. Jim squirms underneath Shane, "You got no right! You got no right!" Jim sits still under Shane's hold. "Jim. Jim, nobody's gonna hurt you. You hear me? Shh. Jim, nobody is gonna hurt you, okay?" He says to Jim. Jim laughs a little, "That's a lie. That's the biggest lie there is. I told that to my wife and my two boys. I said it 100 times. It didn't matter. They came out of nowhere. There were dozens of 'em. Just pulled 'em right out of my hands. You know, the only reason I got away was 'cause the dead were too busy eating my family." I look away trying not to cry. I couldn't imagine if anything had happened to Joey or Shane.

Jim is tied to a tree to protect him from hurting anyone or himself. I'm across from him with the kids helping them with the school workbooks they have. Shane and Dale come up to him with some water. I'm too far to hear what they're talking about, but I see Shane giving him water. "Sorry if I scared the boy and the little girls." Jim hollered over to me. I shook my head, "You had sunstroke. Nobody's blaming you."  "You're not scared now, are you?" Jim asks the kids. "No sir." They all replied. He then looked to Joey, "Your mama's right. Sun just cooked my head is all." Joey nodded then looked back to her workbook. "Jim, do you know why you were digging? Can you say?" I asked him. "I had a reason. Don't remember. Something I dreamt last night. Your dad was in it. You were too. You were worried about him. Can't remember the rest. You worried about your dad?" He asks Carl. "They're not back yet." Carl answers. I rub Carl's back, "We don't need to talk about that."  "Your dad's a police officer, son. He helps people. Probably just came across some folks needing help, that's all. That man, he is tough as nails. I don't know him well but... I could see it in him. Am I right?" Jim asks looking to Shane and he nods, "Oh yeah." "There ain't nothing gonna stop him from getting back here to you and your mom, I promise you that." Jim says looking to Carl. Shane stands up, "All right. Who wants to help me clean some fish, huh?" Carl jumps up, "Sweet. Come on Sophia and Joey!" They run off with Shane. I pack up the kids' workbooks and I'm about to take them back to my tent when Jim's voice stops me, "You keep your girl close. You don't ever let her out of your sight." I nod over to Jim and take the workbooks to the tent.

We're all sitting by the fire, frying up all the fish Andrea and Amy caught. Rick's group is still not back and I'm getting a little worried. "I, uh, built up the rocks all around. See? So the flames can be a little higher and have 'em be hidden." Morales smiles proudly. I see Shane get up and walk over to Jim. I braid Joey's hair as we wait for the fish to be done cooking. The fish is finally done, and everyone is digging in. "Pass the fish, please" Sophia asks nicely and I give the plate full of fish to Carol and she passes it to Sophia, "Here you go." Shane looks over to me," Man o man, that's good. Whew. I miss this. We used to have a Mads good ol' fish fry once a week." I laugh," Would be better with all the spices we had in the kitchen love." He smiles kissing the top of my head. "I've got to ask you, man. It's been driving me crazy." Morales says looking to Dale, "That watch." "What's wrong with my watch?" Dale asks looking at all of us. Morales laughed, "I see you every day, the same time, winding that thing like a village priest saying mass." "I've wondered this myself." Jacqui laughed. "I'm missing the point." Dale said looking around.  "Unless I've misread the signs, the world seems to have come to an end. At least hit a speed bump for a good long while." I laugh. "But there's you every day winding that stupid watch." Morales says pointing to Dale. "Time... it's important to keep track, isn't it? The days at least. Don't you think, Andrea? Back me up here. I like... I like what, um, a father said to son when he gave him a watch that had been handed down through generations. He said, "I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire, which will fit your individual needs no better than it did mine or my father's before me; I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you may forget it for a moment now and then and not spend all of your breath trying to conquer it"" Dale says getting all deep. "You are so weird." Amy spoke up after a few moments of silence. We all laughed. "It's not me. It's Faulkner. William Faulkner. Maybe my bad paraphrasing." Dale laughs. Shane scoots over closer to me wrapping an arm around my waist. Amy stands up and goes to move away from the fire, but Andrea grabs her hand, "Where are you going?" Amy looks around embarrassed, "I have to pee. Jeez, you try to be discreet around here." We all laugh again.

Amy comes out of the RV yelling, "We're out of toilet paper?" Then we hear a scream. We look over to the RV to see a walker biting Amy's arm. I look around to see walkers everywhere, Shane looks at me then at a scared Lori and Carl. "Go, Joey and I can protect ourselves. Save them." I tell him and he runs over to them. I look down to Joey, "Josephine, get your gun out. We're going to clear us and the others a path to the RV. Do not let anything get to close, understand?" She nods and pulls out her gun, as I do the same. I look over to see Jim pick up a baseball bat and crushes a Walker's skull with it. I start to shoot the walkers around Jim before yelling, "Get to the RV!" He listens and runs past the walker. Joey and I shoot our way through the walkers that are between us and the RV, saving anyone we could, but a lot of our group has died. We're backed up to the RV with Lori, Shane, and Carl as we continue to shoot more walkers. Just then there are gunshots that are not ours, and I see Daryl, T-Dog, Glenn, and Rick come through the camp. Rick shoots five of the Walkers, Daryl kills four, two with the butt of his rifle, Glenn shots two, T-Dog shoots one and kills another with the butt of his rifle. All the walkers are now dead. Carl runs to Rick and gives him a hug as does Lori. Shane walks over to us, and hugs us. I look over Shane's shoulder to see Andrea sitting next to Amy sobbing, Andrea caresses Amy's cheek, telling her that she loved her, before Amy took her last breath. All that could be heard in the night was sobbing coming from everyone. Jim looks around at all the dead bodies laying around, "I remember my dream now, why I dug the holes."
