We were sitting around the fire eating breakfast and I almost choked when I heard Glenn say, "Um, guys. So...the barn is full of walkers." We all drop our plates and run down to the barn. Shane looks in the barn hearing the growling, he looks back at Rick, "You cannot tell me you're all right with this." Rick shakes his head resting his hands on his hips, "No I'm not, but we're guests here. This Isn't our land." "This is our lives!" Shane screams as the walkers start pushing against the barn doors. "Lower your voice." Glenn says to Shane. "We can't just sweep this under the rug." Andrea says looking to the barn. "It ain't right. Not remotely. Okay, we've either got to go in there, we've got to make things right or we've just got to go. Now we have been talking about Fort Benning for a long time." Shane says and I roll my eyes. "We can't go." Rick says softly. "Why, Rick? Why?" Shane asks him. "Because my daughter is still out there." Carol says as I say, "Our daughter is out there." Shane scoffs, "Okay. Okay, I think It's time that we all start to just consider the other possibility." I walk over to him and point at him, "We're not leaving Joey or Sophia behind. You asshole!" "I'm close to finding these girls. I just found Sophia's damn doll two days ago." Daryl says yelling walking up to Shane. "You found her doll, Daryl. That's what you did. You found a doll." Shane says rolling your eyes. "You don't know what the hell you're talking about!" Daryl yells running after him and I stand in front of Daryl with my hands on his chest. Shane looks to me and shrugs, "I'm just saying what needs to be said. You get a good lead, it's in the first 48 hours." "Shane, stop." Rick warns. Shane looks back to Daryl, "Let me tell you something else, man. If they were alive out there and saw you coming all methed out with your buck knife and geek ears around your neck, they would run in the other direction. I know damn well Joey would." Daryl breaks free going for Shane as Shane doesn't stand down, "Keep your hands off me!" "Now just let me talk to Hershel. Let me figure it out." Rick says trying to calm the situation. "What are you gonna figure out?!" Shane yells. "If we're gonna stay,if we're gonna clear this barn, I have to talk him into it. This is his land." Rick answers. "Hershel sees those things in there as people--sick people--his wife, his stepson." Dale speaks up. I look at him, "You knew?" He nods, "Yesterday I talked to Hershel." "And you waited the night?" I asked him again. He took a deep breath, "I thought we could survive one more night. We did. I was waiting till this morning to say something. But Glenn wanted to be the one." Shane scoffs, "The man is crazy, Rick, if Hershel thinks those things are alive or no."

Rick, Andrea, and I stood at the truck looking at the map. "Also shows they could be moving this way south. If Joey and Sophia kept in that direction, they might have gotten out of the forest and into the farmland. So we take 74 up to Ivy road, then push down south on foot through the forest till we hit Christopher, go east a couple of miles and then double back." We are interrupted by Hershel, "Rick." Hershel looks at our guns. "Hershel. We just have our guns out because we're gonna go look for Joey and Sophia." Hershel nods, "Before you do that, I could use your help with something." "Count us in." Andrea said pointing to us and I give her a look. "Thank you. But I just need Rick." Hershel says to us and we nod. "I'll be down at the barn keeping watch until you're ready." Andrea says and I roll my eyes. Idiot, clearly Hershel doesn't want us near the barn, but let's tell him we're gonna go keep watch.

"Do you know what's going on?" T-Dog asks as we all sit on the porch. I shake my head, "No idea." "Where is everyone?" Andrea asks as she walks up to the house. "You haven't seen Rick?" Glenn asks between Andrea and I. "He went off with Hershel. We were supposed to leave a couple hours ago." Andrea answered for us and I nodded. "Yeah you were. What the hell?" Daryl asked. "Rick told us he was going out." Carol added. "Damn it. Isn't anybody taking this seriously, but me and Mads? We got us a damn trail," He pauses seeing Shane, "Oh, here we go. What's all this?" "You with me, man?" Shane asks Daryl, holding out a shotgun, and Daryl nods taking it. "Time to grow up. You already got yours?" He asks Andrea and I we both nod. "Thought we couldn't carry?" T-Dog asks as Shane hands him a gun. Shane sighs, "We can and we have to. Look, it was one thing sitting around here picking daisies when we thought this place was supposed to be safe. But now we know it ain't," He looks to Glenn, "How about you, man? You gonna protect yours?" Glenn looks to Maggie before taking the shotgun. Shane smiles looking to Maggie, "That's it. Can you shoot?" Maggie gives him an angry look, "Can you stop? You do this, you hand out these guns, my dad will make you leave tonight." "We have to stay, Shane." Carl objects. Lori comes out the house to see everyone with their guns, "What is this?" Shane walks over and kneels down to Carl, whose in front of me, "We ain't going anywhere, okay? Now look, Hershel, he's just gotta understand. Okay? He--well, he's gonna have to. Now we need to find Joey and Sophia. Am I right? Huh? Now I want you to take this. You take it, Carl, and you keep your mother safe. You do whatever it takes. You know how. Go on, take the the gun and do it." I pull Carl into my chest and hold him as Lori steps in front of Shane, "Rick said no guns. This is not your call. This is not your decision to make." I rubbed Carl's back soothingly. "Oh shit." T-Dog says as we look at the barn.

We see Rick and Hershel holding two walkers on sticks, guiding them to the barn. Lori grabs Carl from me and mouths a thank you and I nods. We all run over to the barn. "What is that? What the hell are you doing?" Shane yells to Rick. "Shane, just back off!" Rick yells back. "Why do your people have guns?" Hershel asks looking around. "Are you kidding me? You see? You see what they're holding onto?" Shane looks to all of us yelling. "I see who I'm holding onto." Hershel corrects him. Shane scoffs, "No, man, you don't." "Shane, just let us do this and then we can talk." Rick says trying to calm Shane down. I walk over to Shane and put my hand on his arm, but he pushes me back. Before I hit the ground Daryl catches me pulling me up to my feet. "What you want to talk about, Rick? These things ain't sick. They're not people. They're dead. Ain't gonna feel nothing for them 'cause all they do, they kill! These things right here, they're the things that killed Amy. They killed Otis. They're gonna kill all of us." Shane yells. "Shane, shut up!" Rick warns. "Hey, Hershel man, let me ask you something. Could a living breathing person, could they walk away from this?" Shane asks pulling his gun out shooting three rounds in the walker's chest. "That's three rounds in the chest. Could someone who's alive, could they just take that?! Why is it still coming?" He shoots it again in the chest. "That's it's heart, it's lungs. Why is it still coming?" He asks before shooting it again. "Shane, enough." Rick says sternly. "Yeah, you're right, man. That is enough." Shane says before walking up to the walker and shooting it in the head. Hershel drops to his knees as the walkers body drops. "Enough risking our lives for little girls who are gone! Enough living next to a barn full of things that are trying to kill us. Enough. Rick, it ain't like it was before! Now if y'all want to live, if you want to survive, you got to fight for it! I'm talking about fighting right here, right now." Shane yells and I flinch at the mention of Joey being gone. "Take the snare pole. Hershel, take the snare pole. Hershel, listen to me, man, please. Take it now. Hershel! Take it!" Rick begs Hershel. Shane runs towards the barn. "No, Shane. Do not do this, brother. Wait!" Rick yells. Shane unlocks the door and pulls it open, "Come on. Come on, we're out here." Lori pulls Carl behind him.

The walkers start to come out of the barn and I run forward pulling my gun out. We all shoot until the walkers stop coming out of the barn. When I think it's all over we hear a soft growl that turns our attention back to the barn. We hear small footsteps, and pull our guns out. The small figure appears through the barn and my gun drops out of my hands. Tears roll down my face, as Sophia walks out of the barn. "Sophia? Sophia!" Carol cried. She runs forward but I grab her and we fall to the ground, "Sophia. Sophia. Oh no. Sophia. Sophia." Sophia looks to all of us growling. Rick steps forward and shoots the walker Sophia, and her body thuds to the ground. Carol gets up and runs away from the barn, and I let her. I get up and run into the barn looking around at all the blood and guts, but there is no sign of her. I run out and Rick grabs me as I collapse to the ground, "Where is she? Where is she?" I sob and Rick holds me rubbing my back and holding my hair. Where is my daughter? I didn't want her to be dead, but the not knowing was going to kill me.

A/N: So they found Sophia, but not Joey. Where could she be? Is she alive or dead?
