Michonne POV

Hershel and I had been kidnapped by the Governor. The man everyone swore to me was dead. But here I am looking him in the eye in some RV. He stands Hershel up and forces him into the seat beside me. He throws food into our lap, "You should eat. It's gonna be a long day. Nobody's gonna hurt you." He started to walk away and Hershel sighed, "I don't believe that." The Governor shrugs, "Well, I don't care." Hershel sighs, "Just tell us what this is. Please." Governor shakes his head, "It isn't personal for the two of you at least." "Then what is it?" Hershel asks. The Governor ignores him, "Michonne, I want you to know... Penny, my daughter, she was  dead. I know that now. Now, I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to  hurt anyone. I need the prison. There are people I need to  keep alive. And I want Madison, she's still pregnant with my baby. The baby needs it's father. You two are gonna help me take it and her. No one needs to die." Hearing him want Madison made my blood boil. I wouldn't say her and I are super close but after knowing what he did to her, that's just an added reason on why I want to kill him. "I'm gonna kill you." I said to him angrily. He shook his head, "No, you won't." "I'm gonna take my-" Hershel cuts me off, "Stop it. You want the prison? Madison?" The Governor nods, "Yeah. And I'll take it as peacefully as I can." "Governor-" Hershel starts, but the Governor cuts him off, "Don't call me that." Hershel tries again, "Your people, our people, we can find a way to live together. These people you need to keep alive, do you love them?" I know Hershel's trying to get us out of this, but there is no way any of us could live together as one. The Governor sighs, "You're a good man, Hershel. A better man than Rick." Hershel nods, "Everything you've said, the way you've said it, you've changed. So has Rick." He shook his head, "The two of us will never be able to live together. Michonne and I, we'll never be able to live together." We could, if I got to kill him in his sleep. Hershel looks to him begging, "We'll find a way." The Governor turns toward us, "I found a way! I'm trying hard. There's all kinds of ways I could do this. This way, you get to live and I get to be..." The Governor stands and starts to head out the door when Hershel's voice stops him, "You say you want to take this prison as peacefully as possible.  That means you'd be willing to hurt people to get it. My daughters  would be there. Madison's daughter is there. That's who you'd be hurting. If you understand what it's like to have a daughter, then how can you threat to kill someone else's?" The Governor looks to us coldly, "Because they aren't mine. That baby is mine, and I will kill anyone that comes between that."

Mads POV

I was sitting on a bench in the courtyard cleaning some of my kids clothes when Rick came up to me, "Hey baby." I smiled, "Hey." He looked down at the clothes, "Doing our kid's laundry?" I nod, "It adds up when you have 3 kids and coming." He smiles, "Anyway you're feeling up for a break and want to come talk to Daryl with me about Carol?" I sigh, "Do I have to?" He shrugs, "No, but I'd like you to." I reach my hand up to him, "Help me up." He smiles, "Little man is looking like he's gonna show up any day now." Rick and I decided on Archie for a boy and Rory for a girl.  I nod, "I think so too, Hershel better make sure this baby comes out as smooth as Joey did." He laughs as we walk inside to where Daryl was.

"Is there something you need to tell me?" Daryl looks between us. I stepped forward, "Rick made a decision. He had to." Daryl scoffed and turned around for a second before turning back to Rick, "Man, you couldn't have waited till we got back?" "Until Tyreese got back?" Rick questions him. Daryl scoffs, "I could've handled that." I looked at Daryl if he was serious, "She killed two of our own." Rick nodded, "She couldn't be here. She's gonna be all right. She has a car, supplies, weapons. She's a survivor." Daryl rolls his eyes, "Stop saying that like you don't believe it." Rick stepped forward, "She did it. She said it was for us. That's how it was in her head. She wasn't sorry." Daryl shakes his head, "Man, that's her, but that ain't her. What are we supposed to do about those two girls?" I looked to Rick, "We'll take care of them. Won't we?" Daryl shook his head, "You've already got your hands full with 3 kids and one on the way." Rick sighed, "I told her we'd all look after them. I haven't told Tyreese yet. I don't know how he's gonna take it." Daryl stood up straight, "Let's go find out."

We head down to the hallway where Tyreese said he would be. "Tyreese. You down here?" Rick calls out. We hear Tyreese yell back from a distance, "Rick, that you?" We finally see Tyreese come into view. His eyes were wide, "You guys got to see this." Rick sighs, "Can we take a beat? There's something we need to talk about." Tyreese shakes his head, "It can wait. Come on." Tyreese leads us through the hallway until we come up to where he wanted us to, "Look." We shine our lights up to a rat cut open and nailed onto a board. "The hell?" Daryl questioned. I looked at it, "I think I'm going to be sick." Tyreese looks at us, "I was just looking for...  answers... and I found this. Same person that killed Karen and David did  this. Remember the rats at the fence? They showed up the same day she  was killed. We got a psychopath living with us." It was true there was someone psycho living among us, but the rat looked too fresh to be placed here since Carol left. This rat had to be placed within the last couple days. Rick sighed, "Tyreese-" Tyreese cut him off, "We got to find him, Rick. And I'm not gonna sleep until we do."Rick looked at us then back to Tyreese, "Tyreese... whoever did this, I don't think that's who killed Karen." Tyreese looked confused, "Why?" I sighed, "Because-" I was cut off by a loud explosion. "Come on." Rick said to us as we ran off to the noise.

We made it outside where everyone was running towards the noise. "Get back!" Rick yelled to everyone. We all make it to the front fence when I hear his voice stopping me in my track, "Rick! Come down here. We need to talk." I feel frozen, in disbelief that he was alive. "It's not up to me! There's a council now. They run this place." "Is Hershel on the council?" The Governor yells before motioning to a woman that pulls Hershel out of a truck and onto his knees. I hear Maggie gasp and I move my hand behind me to her and she takes it softly. "What about Michonne? She on the council, too?" He yells making a motion towards another person and they pull Michonne out of a car and onto her knees besides Hershel. "I don't make decisions anymore." The Governor sighs, "You're making the decisions today, Rick. Come down here. Let's...Let's have that talk."
