I push Rick away from me and I stand up and walk towards Shane. I start swinging my hands towards him angrily and upset, and he just takes the hits like he deserves them. I feel someone grab my arms and pull me back into them. I thrash against them trying to get them off of me, "GET OFF ME! GET OFF!!" I get back in Shane's face, "This is your fault! We could've avoided this, if you'd just listen to Rick! You thought she was dead and didn't even try to look. Now Sophia is dead, and our daughter is still gone. All you wanted to do was go around and sleep with some whore and put your hands on your own wife, rather than look for your own daughter. They've all seen the bruises Shane. And just so you know when I find her Shane, whether she's dead or alive, she's gonna know how her daddy abandon her and how her mommy never gave up." I feel the tears fall down my face as I run away, into the farmhouse to cry in the bathroom.

Rick's POV

I go to run after Madison before Shane's voice stopped me as we all reach the farmhouse. "We've been out. We've been combing these woods looking for her and she was in there all along? You knew? Bet you know where my daughter is too, Huh?" He yells, Maggie steps in front of him with hate in her eyes, "Leave us alone." I walk forward to pull him back but he pushes me away pointing at Hershel, "You knew and you kept it from us." Hershel looks drained of life and says a simple, "I didn't know." Shane scoffs, "That's bullshit. I think y'all knew." Maggie stepped forward pushing Shane back, "We didn't know!" "Why was she there?!" Shane screamed. Hershel shrugged softly, "Otis put those people in the barn. Maybe he found her and put her in there before he was killed." Shane laughs, "You expect me to believe that? Do I look like an idiot?" The door open to reveal Madison, her face was puffy and her eyes were red. "Is that even a question?" She asks Shane. "Shane, hey hey hey." I say trying to calm him. "I don't care what you believe!" Hershel yells. "Everybody just calm down!" I plead. "Get him off my land!" Hershel yells looking at me. "Please. No." I beg as Shane steps forward putting his hands on Hershel, "Let me tell you something." Madison steps forward punching Shane and pulling Hershel back, "Hey. Don't touch him!" Maggie scoffs at Shane, "Haven't you done enough?" "I mean it--off my land." Hershel says still in shock stumbling as Mads and Maggie help him into the house.

The door shuts and I look to Shane, "What are you doing? Hey, what are you doing?" Shane scoffs, "Mads and Daryl almost died looking for her, Rick. Any one of us could have. I'm gonna tell you right now--that son of a bitch, he knew. He knows where my daughter is too." I shake my head, "He didn't know. He's not like that. He opened his home to us. If he knew it was her in there or where Joey is, he'd tell us." Shane laughed, "Put us all in danger. Man, he kept a barn full of walkers." "So you just start an insurrection, hand out guns and massacre his family?" I ask him. "His family's dead, Rick. My daughter is too." He says coldly. I sigh, "Well, he doesn't believe that. He thinks you just murdered them in cold blood. And you don't know if Joey's dead." Shane shakes his head, "No, man, I don't care what he thinks." I step forward, "I was handling it, brother. I was handling it and you just--" Shane cuts me off screaming, "You had us out in those woods looking for two little girls that every single one of us knew was dead! That's what you did." It is silent for a moment until Shane laughs, "Rick, you're just as delusional as that guy. You handling it, huh?" Shane walks away as the door to the farmhouse opens revealing Madison. She walks down the stairs and stands beside me. "You okay?" I ask her and she shakes her head, "My daughter is dead, Rick." I pull her into a hug and rub her back, "You don't know that." She pulls back and a tear rolls down her face, "How can you have any hope that Joey is alive after seeing Sophia?" I wipe the tears away with my thumb, "She's out there Mads. I know she is." Madison pulls away from me before sitting back on the steps, "All this time, I thought they were in the woods, scared and alone. Joey would've done anything she could've to prevent Sophia getting bit. Seeing Sophia like that, confirms that Joey is gone. Maybe Otis just didn't find her body." I sit down next to her and grab her hand, "You have to have faith and hope, Madison." She pulls away and stands up laughing, "Hope? Faith? Where was faith when the end of the world occurred? Or where was faith when they cruelly took away our daughters? There is no hope, Rick." She walks up the stairs past me and back into the farmhouse. I wish I could make her feel like everything was going to be okay and that Joey was alive.
