I sat in the RV with Joey laying between my legs asleep, and me leaning onto Glenn. He played with my hair as I played with Joey's hair. Slowly the RV comes to a stop and Joey jolts awake. I stand up and look out the window to see a sea of cars. Daryl drives past on his motorcycle and Dale asks him, "Oh jeez. Aw no. See a way through?" Daryl nods pulling forward. Glenn puts a hand around my waist leaning towards Dale, "Uh, maybe we should just go back there's an interstate bypass--" Dale cuts him off, "We can't spare the fuel." The engine of the RV sputters and Dale pulls over. We all get out and Dale opens the hood to the RV, "I said it. Didn't I say it? A thousand times. Dead in the water." "Problem, Dale?" Rick asks. Dale sighs looking at the RV, "Just a small matter of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no hope." "If you can't find a radiator hose here..." Shane says looking at the hundreds of cars. Daryl nods, "There's a whole bunch of stuff we can find." "I can siphon more fuel from these cars for a start." T-Dog says hopefully. "Maybe some water." Carol suggests. "Or food." Glenn adds. Lori looks around before shaking her head, "This is a graveyard. I don't know how I feel about this." Glenn comes up to me and kisses me softly, I pull away to hear a scoff and see Shane go up the road a bit. "Be careful, okay?" He asks me and I nod. He gives me one more kiss before he goes to help Dale fix up the RV. I look to Joey, "Stay close with the kids, and with their moms' sight." Joey nods before rummaging through the car in front of her.
I walked up the road before feeling a hand pull me over and a hand cover my mouth. I slam my foot down on their foot, and shove my elbow into their stomach, then I hear, "Damn it!" I know that voice all too well, "Shane, what the hell?" I look to see him doubled over. "You can really take care of yourself, you know that?" He laughs. I push a piece of hair behind my ear nervously, "Yeah." He finally stands up and just looks at me. "What?" I ask him. He laughs, "You know what, Madison." I shake my head, "No Shane, I don't know what. I don't know why you're acting like a child, when you're the one that ruined us." He grabbed my hand and I pulled away, "Mads, we we're great together. You know it and-" I cut him off, "Shane, you we're the one that cheated. You ended us the moment you gave into Lori." He rubbed his chin, "Madison, I love you. I love you so much and I can't stand seeing you with him. You should be with me, Madison. We have a beautiful child, and we are married." I looked up to finally meet his eyes, and I shook my head, "No Shane, we're not. You don't love me, not like I loved you." I looked down at my left hand to see my wedding rings, I slowly slip them off my finger. I look at them for a second before grabbing Shane's hand and laying the rings in his palm. He looks down at his hand, and a tear runs down my face. I wipe it away before he can see it, "I'm sorry Shane, but it's really over. I can't trust you." I go to walk away, but Shane pulls me towards him, and then to the ground and under a car.
A very large hoard of walkers are coming by. I look around to see everyone under cars, I keep looking until I see Joey under a car with Sophia. Thank God she's okay. I see Sophia peak out and six walkers get down on the ground. Joey crawls out on the other side and grabs Sophia's hand as they run into the woods. I get away from Shane's grip and run after them as does Rick. We finally catch up to the girls as Rick grabs Sophia and I grab Joey. Joey hugs me for a moment, before I hear Sophia yell, "Shoot them!" Rick shakes his head, "No. No! Those walkers on the road would hear it. Then it wouldn't be just six, it'd be hundreds. Come here. Come on." We hear the walkers growling, signaling to us that they were gaining on us. We found a hidden area for the girls to hide so we could take out the walkers. We put the girls inside and moved some branches to hide them better. "All right, just hold here. You two stay there. Wait." Rick says looking to see the walkers are almost near us. "Come on. Sophia and Joey, you guys have to do exactly as we say. Hide in there. Squeeze in tight. we'll draw them away from you guys." "No no, don't leave us." Sophia says crying. "Listen. They don't get winded we do. We wouldn't be able to protect you both and kill them. This is how we all survive. You guys understand? If we don't make it back, run back to the highway, back to the others straight the way we came. Keep the sun on your guys' left shoulder. Joey you have weapons, use them if you have to." Joey nods. "Come on! You ugly son of a bitch! Come on! Come on!" Rick yells to the walkers. We run the walkers away from the girls and kill them, by time we get back to the place we left Joey and Sophia, they were gone. I look in horror, "Rick, my baby is gone. She's not here." I feel Rick turn me around and hug me as I sobbed in his arms.
