"I think you're lying." Rick says to Jenner. "What?" Jenner asks. "You're lying about no hope. If that were true, you'd have bolted with the rest or taken the easy way out. You didn't. You chose the hard path. Why?" Jenner shakes his head, "It doesn't matter." Rick steps towards him, "It does matter. It always matters. You stayed when others ran. Why?" Jenner took a deep breath, "Not because I wanted to. I made a promise." He pauses looking to the screen, "To her. My wife." "Test subject 19 was your wife?" Lori asked. "She begged me to keep going as long as I could. How could I say no? She was dying. It should've been me on that table. I wouldn't have mattered to anybody. She was a loss to the world. Hell, she ran this place. I just worked here. In our field she was an Einstein. Me? I'm just... Edwin Jenner. She could've done something about this. Not me." "Your wife didn't have a choice. You do. That's—that's all we want—a choice, a chance." Rick says. "Let us keep trying as long as we can." Lori begs. He shakes his head, "No, I can't do that." Everyone cries, and I look to the clock to see our time is almost up soon. I pull out my gun and calmly walk over to Jenner, quickly I grab his lab coat. "Madison!" Rick yells. "Back the hell off Rick." I tell him. I put my gun under Jenner's chin, and I hear his breath hitch.  "Now you listen to me you son of a bitch! I will fucking kill you, you better open that God damn door!" I scream. He shakes his head, "I told you, I can't." I point my gun down, and shoot him in the leg. He screams out in pain and Rick grabs my arm, but I shove him off. I get down on the ground next to Jenner and I check how many bullets I have in my gun, four more. I point my gun at him, "There's four more left. You can give me the code to the door, or I will kill you."  He screams out in pain, "0-0828! 0828" I pat his shoulder, "See how easy that could've been." I run over to the camera and put the code in, and the door opens. "Come on!" Daryl yells. "Let's go!" Glenn yells. "Rick, come here real quick!" Jenner yells in pain to Rick, as he slowly stands up. Jenner whispers something to Rick, and Rick looks stunned. Lori grabs Rick and Glenn grabs Joey and I, "Hey, we've got four minutes left! Come on!" We run out with Glenn. T-Dog and Daryl run for the doors, banging against them. "Get them doors open!" Shane yells. I look at my watch three minutes. We have to go! They try hitting it with the axe, shooting it, even a chair, but the glass just won't break. Carol reaches in her bag, "Rick, I have something that might help." "Carol, I don't think a nail file's gonna do it." Shane says and I roll my eyes. "Your first morning at camp, when I washed your uniform I found this in your pocket." I look to Carol's shaky hand to see a grenade in her hand. Everyone but Rick takes cover, I feel strong arms covering me and Joey, I look up to see Glenn. Rick carefully removes the pin and sits it on the window sill, and pauses before running and getting pushed back by the explosion. I look around to see Andrea and Dale are missing. I grab Glenn's hand, "Glenn, take Joey. Dale and Andrea are still down there." He shakes his head, "You're being crazy. Let's go." I pull him in for a short kiss, "I have to help them. Just go. Take Joey with you." He picks Joey up and heads out the window running for the cars.

I run back down to see Andrea, Dale, and Jacqui sitting there, "What the hell are you guys doing? Let's go." Jacqui shakes her head. "So that's it. You're all cowards!" I yell. Andrea stands up to me, "Who the hell are you to judge?" "Amy wouldn't want this!" I yell at her and she slaps me across the face. "You don't know what she wants!" She yells before running out the door Dale following. We finally get out to the window and start heading for the car. I look down to my watch to see we have 10 seconds left, we're not gonna make it. The explosion launches me forward and forces me to slide across the concrete. The building falls completely erupting in flames, I slowly lift my head up off the ground. I try to push myself off the ground when I feel pain in my leg, I look down to see a piece of metal sticking through my thigh. I quickly ripped off a piece of my shirt and tied it around my thigh. Glenn got out of the RV running over to me and picking me up bridal style, carrying me to the RV. We start driving, and I sat down in the RV and looked down at my leg, "Fuck this hurts." "Are you okay mommy?" Joey asks me. I nod putting my hand on her cheek, "I'm hurt a little, but I'll be okay joeybean." "You've gotta get it out, Mads." Shane says to me. "It's Madison." I said bitterly. I look down at my leg and slowly put my hand on the metal, in one quick motion, I pull out the piece of metal and cry out in pain. It hurt so bad, but I wrapped it with the bandages I had in my bag. "Look Mads, I know things aren't great between us right now, but I want to try us again. I know I messed up, but-" He starts before Glenn cuts him off stepping in front of him, "She's good thanks." Shane looks between us, and laughs, "Really Mads? You slept with him, didn't you? You at least owe me an answer." I hobble up to him, "I don't have owe you anything. I'm not your wife anymore."

A/N: And that's it for season 1! You guys aren't ready for season 2, Madison goes through some real shit. And I'm gonna be 100% honest Rick and Madison will not be together until Lori dies, but they will have cute scenes and realize their feelings before. :)
