The week passed and Lexa had not seen Clarke and she thought maybe it was best because now she feels guilty for what happened and knowing Clarke is already in a relationship, well, its just best. She took her walks on the beach but in the opposite direction of Clarke. She was afraid of seeing the blonde. Seeing her would just make her more confused. Why does this bother me so bad, Lexa thought. Why do I care if she is with someone? Why do I care if I run into her? Why do I care, especially not really knowing her? We are friends right? Yeah sure you pervert, thinks Lexa and slaps her own forehead. You had a fantasy about her so how is that a friend? She has to see Clarke to prove this to herself that they are friends and that she is ok with that. When she meets her boyfriend, she will be nice. She has a party to help plan so that will take her mind off things. She will meet Anya and Raven to start the planning. She calls and sets up a time and they decide to meet at the club.
Raven is meeting Clarke for lunch and wants to talk to her about Anya and fill her in on some things. Clarke walks in the little cafe' and spots Rae sitting at a table so she goes and sits down, "Hi Rae!" "Hey there you, she says back., so what's been up with you since we spoke last?" "a lot of painting, Clarke says with a small laugh. So, tell me about this party you called me about the other night?" "Yes, the party", says Raven." Well, to start with I want to tell you something." Clarke looks at her and says," ok, go on." Raven looks at her and tells her all about Anya and how they met, which was at the Club. "Raven, that is wonderful news, I am so happy for you!" I am so glad Clarke, I know things have been rough for you and with all that happened to you, well, I just did not want to seem like I was rubbing it in or anything". Clarke took her hand across the table and said, "Rae, I want you happy, you deserve it and I would never make you feel bad because of it, do you hear me?" Raven smiled and said thank you, that means a lot." The two sat and ate lunch, talked and caught up and then it was time to go. They hugged and left and Clarke thought she would go for a walk herself on the beach when she got back to the beach house, it might do her some good.
A little while later
Lexa walked in the building and saw them already there so she went and sat with them. They were kissing when she walked up so she cleared her throat. Anya and Raven looked up and giggled. "Well, now that I have your attention from sucking each others faces off, can we plan a party", Lexa asked. "Yes, grumpy, Anya said with a smile, what has you in a mood?" "I am not in a mood", Lexa said. "OK, if you say so", said Anya. Raven chimed in and said, "well, to start, I was thinking, maybe we should have the party somewhere else besides out here, you know, in the open section for everyone. You know, so it could just be the people we invite and not a whole lot of other unwanted people." "She has a point", Lexa said. Anya asked, "where would we have it?" Lexa spoke up again and said, "why not make a private section, we can close it off for VIP, just our group and the rest of the club would be for everyone else". "Well, that seems to settle it then on the where part, now the when, what about this weekend, we can start around 8" Raven said. They made a list of who to invite, and they did want food so they decided what would be catered in. Lexa thought too of how she really wanted to invite Clarke, especially since she didn't really know anyone here. That would not happen though. Then again, maybe she could invite her. So what if she has someone, she can handle it. She just wanted Clarke to meet her friends and let her get to know more people. They are friends. It is worth a shot. Lexa thinks, yes, I will ask her.
When Lexa gets home, its not too late for a walk and she could stop by Clarkes and ask her. She heads out down the beach with a smile. She reaches Clarkes place and she doesn't see her on the balcony so she walks up to the door and knocks. She hears shuffling and then the door opens. There stands Clarke as beautiful as ever in her over sized t shirt and what Lexa assumes are shorts underneath, her hair wet and hanging on her shoulders. Looks like she just had a shower. "Hey you, what brings you out this way, out for your walk?" Lexa smiles and says, yes, I needed it," Clarke move and gestures her hand to the insude, "You want to come in, I was just about to have some tea." Lexa says, "sure, I'd love to" and steps into the house, trying to be careful not to stare at Clarkes bare legs. That was not going so well. Clarke pours them some tea and they go to sit in the living room. Clarke sits down on the couch on one end and Lexa sits on the other. They talked for a bit about the last few days and then Lexa says, "Um, Clarke, I want to ask you something. This weekend there is a party that I want to invite you to, its on Sat night and I figured it may be a good idea for you to meet more people, I know I could have called and asked but I thought it would be better to come ask you in person". "Oh, Lexa, I would love to but I already have plans, I am sorry, but maybe some other time?" Lexa feels her heart sink but smiles and says," It is ok, I just wanted to ask, yes, maybe another time." They sit and talk some more and Lexa keeps having to fight the urge not to look at Clarkes legs and the way her shirt rides up. Finally she feels heated says she has to go and thanks Clarke for the tea and wonderful conversation and Clarke thanks her for the company. Clarke walks her to the door and before Lexa can leave, Clarke reaches for Lexa's hand and squeezes and says" "thank you again for the invite I am sorry I will miss it". Lexa smiles and says, "it is ok, there will be other parties". She looks at Clarke and and squeezes her hand back, says good night. She takes a glance back and sees Clarke is still standing watching her. She waves and then walks faster to get home. Clarke walks back inside and curses her friend Raven for messing things up. Now she has to go with Raven to her party and miss Lexa's. She can only hope there is another party soon so she can go.
Lexa reaches home and grabs a beer from the fridge. She sighs and can't understand why she is so disappointed that Clarke can't be at the party. She thinks she must have a date with the someone she spoke with on the phone the other night. It has only been like 3 weeks since they met but Clarke has made her feel something. She can't feel that though, Clarke has someone. What does it matter anyway, she can't open her heart up like that again and Clark is not the kind of woman who deserves just a good time in bed, she deserves more. Lexa feels like she can't give that and it would not be fair so, it is good that Clarke has someone. Why does a big part of her still feel like it could be her? She don't understand these feelings! She drinks her beer and goes for another one, then another. Maybe she can drown it all out of her head, not think about it. She heads to bed and sleep takes her away. She will deal with all this tomorrow.
