New Developments

 All was arranged on the house and now, Lincoln puts a plan together to ask Octavia to marry him. His first step is to go ring hunting. He wants to find O the perfect ring. He calls Lexa.
"Hello", she answers the phone. "Hey Lexa, I need a big favor but you can't tell anyone, not yet anyway, it's a surprise  ok." Lincoln said. "Ok sure, I think?" She laughs. He tells her to meet him at the gym when she gets off work and he will explain then. She agrees. She calls Clarke and tells her that she is meeting Lincoln and will be a bit late but not too late.

  Lexa takes off early from work  she goes to the gym. She walks in and everyone looks at her. She smiles and walks on in to Lincolns office. "Hey, looks great in here,  sorry I haven't been by in so long."  Lincoln looks up and says, "Well, you have a lot on your plate, you do own 3 places, so its all good." She walks over and sits down and asked what was going on and why she can't say anything. She sees the little smile on his face and he says, "Well, I just don't want you saying anything just yet, not today, and especially not to Octavia." Lexa looks at him with squinted eyes, "You're up to something." "I want to ask O to marry me and I want you to help me pick put a ring," he says with a big grin. "Linc, that is amazing, I am so happy for you and I know she will say yes!" She gets up and hugs him. " And I'd love to help you pick out a ring." " Thanks, I knew I could count on you, oh and  another thing, I am buying Bellamy's beach house for us. He wanted to rent the house out or sell, so I talked to him and well, it will be ours. O doesn't know yet and I don't want to tell her just yet. I want to surprise her with it all." He tells with such excitement. Lexa listens to him and she smiles at him. She loves that he is this happy. "Lincoln, I am truly so happy for you. You deserve this." He hugs her again and tells her thank you and they leave from there to go ring hunting. They shopped and shopped until they found it. It is perfect for the love of his life. They go their separate ways, Lincoln goes home to Octavia and Lexa goes home to Clarke. On the way home, Lexa thinks about Clarke. It is getting closer to time for her to go back to D.C. and she feels they need to talk about their relationship and how they will do this. She loves Clarke, she don't want her to leave. She feels an aching in her heart. She will be empty without Clarke here. She has gotten so used to her being with her. She knew this would be hard but the closer it gets, the harder it is. She gets home and walks in and Clarke is cooking. Lexa sees her from the living room and can't help but smile. Clarke looks so good. God I love her, Lexa thinks to herself. She walks in, " You look so good in this kitchen, can I keep you?" She puts her arms around Clarke. "Mmm, I am pretty sure it is my cooking skills you are after but yes, you can keep me." Clarke laughs." Lexa giggles too and tells her, "Definitely the cooking skills, among other amazing skills you have Ms. Griffin." "Ha Ha! I knew it, how was your day?" Clarke asked. Lexa walks over to get a bottled water from the fridge and says, it was good, a few meetings but all in all, productive." She stands by the bar watching Clarke cook and wanted to help but Clarke spotted her hand back. " You sit, I got this. Oh and how is Lincoln? Lexa says, Well, I have something to tell you but you swear not to say a word. I only tell you because you're sexy and I have a weakness for sexy, blondes named Clarke." She gives and eyebrow flicker. "Oh do you now Ms. Woods? And what is this little secret.?" Lexa smiles, "Lincoln asked me to go ring hunting and he is going to ask Octavia to marry him and he is buying  Bellamy's beach house and surprising her with that too!". "OMG, that is great! I am happy for them. They look good together." Lexa gets up and walks to Clarke and wraps her arms around her, "I think we look good together too," and she kisses Clarke and the kiss is soft but it is saying something. Something Lexa wants to convey to her. She don't want her to leave. When they break the kiss, Lexa looks down and Clarke sees something is bothering her. "Babe, what's wrong?" Lexa can't speak for the lump in her throat and she doesn't want to be a piddling mess in front of Clarke. Clarke takes her face, "Talk to me, what is it?" Lexa looks at her, "Clarke, how will we do this when you go back to D.C.? You're my girlfriend and I know we didn't expect all this but here we are. Now you will be leaving soon and I just, I just, I don't want you to go!" Clarke looks at her and it breaks her heart. She knows the plans she has made and that she has decided to stay but she wants to surprise Lexa. She almost tells her right then but she holds it. "Lexa, babe, I promise you, we will do this, we will make it work. We will figure something out. I don't want to lose you Lex. I LOVE YOU!" "I love you too" Lexa hugs her tightly. They eat dinner and share some laughs as well as talk about all that is transpiring around them and they are happy for their friends.
