Because of what happened at night, the school had been shut on Thursday and Friday. Both them days, and the weekend, consisted of visits to Allison's house and late-night hangouts with Brett.
It was now Monday morning and I was sitting at my counter, spoon in hand as I ate my cereal and listened to the radio.
My phone buzzed once again and I knew exactly who it was. I had been ignoring Stiles, and Scott for that matter, per Allison's request.
She was still very angry at the duo for the danger they put us in the other night and made me promise I wouldn't talk to them, which was proving to be very difficult.
With a glance at the clock, I swiftly got up from my seat and grabbed my pre-packed bag and phone and began my journey to the place I had nightmares about these last few days.
As soon as I got there, I waited by the steps for Allison after her dad said he wanted her to stay with a trusted friend all day. Me, being that trusted friend, agreed straight away.
I saw his car pull up with Allison in the back and her aunt in the passenger seat. Once I caught Mr Argent's eye, he waved my over to their car.
When I got there, he rolled the window down and gave me a polite smile, which I returned. "Now Kelsey I want you to keep my daughter safe, I know you can do that, right?" Allison groaned at this while her aunt chuckled.
"Sir, I promise to keep your daughter safe from the horrors of this high school." I brought my two fingers into a mock salute and gave a proud grin.
Her dad gave a tight smile and her aunt gave a wink and leaned over her brother to unlock the doors so Allison could get out. She thanked her aunt and linked arms with me so we could walk into school.
When we got into class, we met up with Lydia, who gave us both a tight embrace that i'm pretty sure shattered my ribs.
"It's weird. Everyone's talking about what happened and they don't even know it was us." Allison whispered and the two of us agreed.
"Guys, do you think I made the wrong decision?" It was obvious what, or should I say who, she was talking about but I could tell Lydia didn't want to comment about him so she turned it around to fashion.
After receiving a look from Allison, that was when Lydia commented. "Hello? He locked us in a room and left us for dead. He's lucky we're not pressing charges." I decided to stay silent, I wasn't about to bad mouth my friend.
The bell rang, signalling the next class, which was the class I was dreading all day. Not only did we have a test I didn't study for, but I also sat next to Stiles, who I was ignoring.
As I took my seat, I could feel Stiles' stare onto the side of my face. It only shifted when Scott walked into class and headed straight to Allison's seat.
He could barely spit out any words before he was rushed away by our teacher. He took his seat in front of Stiles but refused to lift his head up.
The test started and I was already certain I was gonna fail. Maybe next time I should spend my days revising instead of almost dying at the hands of the big bad wolf.
Minutes later, Scott rushed out the door with Stiles following seconds later. Something in my heart was telling me to follow them but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Instead, I unwillingly carried on with my test.
Lunch couldn't seem to come faster as I took a seat next to Allison. As soon as I sat down, my phone buzzed so I pulled it out of my pocket to reveal Brett had left me message.
I smiled softly before continuing to text him back. After I told him what happened us in the school that night, he became very protective of me and we hung out almost every night, me teaching him how to skate while he taught me more about how to play lacrosse.
I snapped out of my thoughts and lifted my head to see Jackson wiping something off of Allison's lip with his thumb then licking it off, making me almost throw up then and there.
They continued conversing while I just listened and observed. I started to get nervous after they started talking about Scott. His anger levels were probably heightened, considering the full moon is tonight.
After lunch, I was standing with Lydia as she was waiting for Jackson to come out of the changing rooms. She was talking to this blonde girl about something, probably about how her dress combo was wrong, and I kind of zoned out.
Scott and Stiles came out the changing rooms first and I tried to avoid eye contact with them but that was impossible as Scott walked over. He asked to talk to Lydia in private so they walked off, not before giving me a solemn look.
Before I could turn away, Stiles grabbed my hand and signal to me that we needed to talk. Sighing, I complied knowing he deserved an explanation as to why I was ignoring them.
"Kelse you've been ignoring me all day what's the matter? Did we do something wrong? Did I do something wrong?" His end sentence made my heart hurt. I didn't want to ignore them but I wanted to be there for Allison.
"Stiles you did nothing wrong, I was trying to be their for Allison. She's really upset so i'm comforting her like you comfort Scott. Think of me as the Stiles to her Scott." I smiled at this and so did he.
"So we're still best friends?" This surprised me. I didn't know he considered me to be his best friend. I felt touched to be associated with someone as kind and goofy as him.
"Yeah of course we are. Now, should we head to the fields." As I said that, his eyes lit up and began jumping up and down.
"Kelse I made first line!" I couldn't help but grin at his excitement. "You have to call me Biles from now on." I didn't bother to question it, knowing it was something stupid.
"Alright BILES, race to the fields?" I propositioned. I knew he wouldn't back down.
"Your on" So just like that, we raced towards the fields, not caring if people gave us funny looks. I had a smile on my face that no one could wipe off and that was all down to Stiles and his stupid ways.
How did I almost last a full day without talking to him?
A/N: I just wanted to clarify that Brett is in his sophomore year, just like the rest of them :)
