All Alone

"It doesn't make sense you know" Aileen pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear.

She was waiting for Emily to finish the last person's order before they closed the store.

"she was just so scary, I mean we were okay in class, I think maths or chemistry but she was thinking as usual. Of course. And then she just grabs her bag to leave looking pretty ticked off and then she goes to an empty classroom and barges out which was weird and starts walking through the hall, and there I was utterly confused wondering what the hell was wrong with her and then she goes to her favourite spot behind the school and when I get there I just see her standing, looking mental and then Yvonne talking and Yvonne grabs her hand hoping to grab her attention which didn't work because BAM just like that Jane pushed her and I was freaking scared but what was more scary was the fact she just left the Yvonne girl on the floor. I mean she could have at least said sorry and then later today she texts me saying she can't come to work.

I mean we were both excited to go for work and know she's all like I can't come. You know "

Ail took a long breath

"order up" Emily sang placing a tray on the counter with2 plastic coffee cups one was dark coffee and the other was latte with extra sugar and on the side was a plate with bread buns.

Aileen sighed taking the tray and jumping off her seat to serve the men sitting on the table at the far end.

She politely dropped the tray on their table careful not to spill anything "Anything else?" she smiled bringing out her pen and paper from the pocket of her apron.

"No thank you" the man wearing a tuxedo returned a smile.

She nodded and went into the kitchen. She picked a broom to sweep.

"I think you need to rest Aileen. Leave Jane, I know your worried but she can handle herself, so you can go I'll clean up the café and all that just don't over stress on Jane. She is just going through shit" Emily placed her hand on Aileen's shoulder "everything is okay" she stressed the 'is' and squeezed Ail's shoulder simultaneously.

"I hope so" Aileen removed her apron and hung it on the hanger in the hall not so far from the kitchen "bye" she waved at Emily and grabbed her bag to leave

She walked into an ice cream parlor and went straight to the counter I'll like a banana flavoured ice –cream with all your toppings on top" she ordered as she smiled sweetly to the woman taking her order. She felt her phone vibrate through her bag. Without hesitation she searched for her phone and looked at the caller ID @Jane's mom"

"Good morning Jane's mom" she smiled into the phone. It had been a long time she talked with Laura

"I've told you, you can call me Laura, I don't mind" her mom playfully scolded. Aileen knew she could but just didn't feel like.

There was a brief pause

"Please be honest with me, do you know if Jane went to work today?" Laura slowly questioned through the phone.

Aileen frowned at that. Her mom should know Jane wasn't around then again she remembered Jane and her mom never had a really good relationship. "Nope. We are work partners but she didn't come today. She even sent a text saying she couldn't come" she tried sounding casual, she did not know what was happening but she felt like it was serious.

There was a pause over the phone and Aileen fought back the tempting urge to say 'hello' and bring Laura back to reality.

The nice woman gave her her ice cream

"What exactly did she say in the text?"

Aileen paid the price of the ice cream and mouthed a thank you to the woman.

"I can't come" Aileen deadpanned

She walked out of the café and continued her stroll

"Do you know where she is?" Laura pressed further, her voice, desperate

"Actually I don't" Aileen answered as she looked around hoping to see Jane's bouncy hair.

She stopped a cab "east leaf street"

"Four dollars, kid" the cab driver answered. She shrugged and stepped in.

"Where do you think she'll be?"

Aileen racked her brain, if she wasn't in her room or in a lonely corner where will she be?" I think walking...or alone.....I guess....I don't think I'm helping matters"

"It's not your fault....goodbye have a nice day"

And just like that Laura hung up before Aileen could think of saying her own share of bye.

She remembered Emily's advice and decided to lick her ice cream.

Jane could take care of herself

So that's all. Thank God. I am not sure when next we'll have an update so yeah I'm ditching you guys on this cliff and I'm leaving you guys hanging.....maybe to get bole or something. I love bole. Now I'm hungry.
