"Professor, is it possible for you to re-read our most recent draft's?"
"No, I cannot re-read your draft's. As stated in the syllabus, I will read a draft of your assignment once and provide detailed feedback. This is to ensure everyone that wants a draft review can receive one. Anymore questions?"
A series of muffled responses spread across the room.
Taking notice of this, he gave a curt nod, using his pointer finger to push his glasses further up the structure of his nose before speaking once again. "Alright then, that's it for today. The text I'd like you to analyze is already uploaded, so give it a read and we'll discuss it tomorrow. Failing to do so results in falling behind. That said, I expect you all to be studying hard."
Upon giving that final dismissal, everyone began standing up and leaving the room.
Due to all the sudden commotion, you scrunched your eyelids shut, a wave of red and black popping up into your vision.
The brightness of the light shining from above was currently blinding you, rendering you unable to open your eyes without a flash of tiredness.
Nevertheless, you blinked your right eye open and tried to adjust to the light as you took in your surroundings.
You glanced around leisurely. There were no signs of other people. The lecture hall was empty. And immediately, you knew what'd happened.
Swiftly, you stood up and gathered your things, with the whole intent of leaving the room while pretending you hadn't just slept in class.
However, before you could do so, Professor Jeon suddenly appeared in front of you, his arms crossed together in a stern manner as he addressed you.
"Not you, I need to speak with you for a few minutes."
You sighed. "Listen professor, I didn't mean to-" He held his hand up to silence you, not letting you apologize.
"You know, originally, I thought you were just bored with my class. It was actually kind of insulting." You became silent, mulling over his words.
"However, that's not what I want to talk to you about. It's about your most recent submission. Well, frankly, it's about all your submissions over the course of this year."
At this, your brows raised slightly... though, he took this as indication for him to continue. "They're... concerning."
You nearly choked. "Sorry?"
Finally, he set his eyes on you.
"Your interpretation of each material, I find that it often resolves around the same subject. In other words, something's changed." His voice was clear and stern, applying light pressure to your chest.
Somethings changed, huh?
Unconsciously, your eyes began scanning his features, mentally comparing all the differences you spotted in contrast to his other self. And it was at that very moment when you really looked at him, for the first time ever since that day. He was so different in your eyes now than he had been only a mere month ago.
His brown eyes were hard but determined, not much different from what you had seen before.
However, you just couldn't understand it.
You couldn't fathom how the man standing before you right now, wearing a crisp grey suit with his hair combed back and perfectly styled, was the same man as the previous nights before.
