Your feet carried you throughout the campus hallways, soon finding yourself standing in front of the door to Mr. Jeon's office. You raised your fist to knock.
But, for a moment, you hesitated.
Light was pooling through the gap underneath the door, indicating that the person in question was clearly inside. However, that didn't make you feel any less nervous, nor did that make you feel any better about how... bare, you seemed to feel in front of this man.
Only a short while ago, had Mr. Jeon addressed to you a topic that you've been avoiding for quite a while now, feeling the severe need to avoid all discussions alike.
Due to the sudden bringing about of change in your life, and his curiosity as to why— you couldn't help the tense feeling it gave arise to... thus, giving an explanation to your nerves.
From what you've gathered through your own observations, together with gossip from other students, the professor was someone who valued his privacy and solitude, all in all, just like you— usually.
But that was what made it so unsettling.
Just last week, you'd seen another side to Mr. Jeon that you were confident no other student has ever seen before. Some would call it luck, you considered it to be more of the opposite... misfortunate, to a greater degree.
The last thing you wanted was to hold onto something o such secrecy, and later it be deemed a scandal.
He had his own life, after all, just as you did. And to put it in simple terms, you didn't want to be the one to... ruin that, in a sense.
Now, however, it seemed as though a line had been drawn between the both of you, nor equal, or inferior.
You've seen him, true to self, when he had been not to you a professor, but just a normal human being. Meanwhile, he'd become the first to begin uncovering that same truth about you.
He's crossed boundaries, expressed his concerns, and pointed out all your contrasts... to which, has all brung you to where you were now— standing to the fore of his office, debating whether or not you should actually go in.
In truth, you felt more cornered than ever.
Though, you couldn't help but wonder how far he'd go to reach a closing that would make himself feel satisfied. I mean, why was he so concerned in the first place?
You sighed. All these questions, yet no plausible answers.
Just then, the door opened.
Shit, shit, fuck, shit. But you soon realized that it was already too late to regret your decisions and lack of swift reaction.
Jungkook was seen standing on the threshold, brows creasing, his expression slightly startled. You drew in a silent gasp.
And you stood there, staring at one another for a solid five seconds before it finally occurred to you that you had to say something. "Are you leaving, professor?"
Almost immediately, you fought the urge to curse yourself for asking such an obvious question.
You were the one standing outside of his office for no apparent reason, embarrassing enough as it was, and yet, the first thing that came to mind was that...? You felt like an utter fool.
"Uh, I was—" He began, his voice deep and rough from fatigue. "Never mind that. Did you need something?"
