It was a pleasant morning. The addictive scent of coffee roamed in the air amongst a few aromatic candles whose flames danced in the dim lighting.

The rug beneath your feet was fluffed and warm from a much needed vacuum, the black leather couch rid of its piles of clothes, pillows now lined up nicely in the corners.

You found yourself humming along with the melodic jazz music that was playing softly from a small speaker in the kitchen, the concept clouding your mind regarding a similar jazz piece you learned to play on the piano.

And soon, you took a seat at your desk, having decided to get some work done before the morning was over. You began returning calls, texting with friends, completing unfinished assignments that were due in a days time.

Pressing send on your final email, you looked up at the clock.

11:57 AM. Only?

Your self deprecating thoughts were interrupted by a loud, unexpected knock at the door.

"Hold on, I'm coming!" You shouted from your room, glancing at the nearest mirror to fix your appearance before making your way towards the front door.

You twisted the handle, opening it slightly to peek at who was at the other side. It was Andrea, an iced coffee in hand and a wide smile plastered on her face. "Oh, it's just you."

You joked, welcoming her inside nonetheless. "Haha, very funny." Andrea rolled her eyes, walking straight past you and towards the couch. "You're early."

"I missed you." You cringed at her words... as simple as they were. "Bullshit."

She snickered at your response.

"So, how was your vacation?" She asked, her legs propped up against the end of the couch while she laid back, arms resting behind her head. "Did you meet anyone there? A hot guy, perhaps?" A heavy sigh escaped your lips. You were an idiot to expect more genuine engrossment from her.

Prior to the small one week visit you had taken to America for minor family matters, she had been pestering you none stop about finding someone to, 'settle down with.' Of course, knowing her, it hadn't come as much of a surprise to you.

After all, you were used to it by now.

But you knew that Andrea's decisions were always in your best interest. Being the great friend that she was, all she wanted was to see you get with a rich, handsome man... whom was worthy of your love and affection.

Not that it sounded like such a bad idea.

In your eyes, however, it just seemed like nothing but a very unrealistic fantasy... irrational, more so.

You'd never stop her from trying though. Her efforts were enticing to you. Top tier entertainment at its finest.

"No, I didn't. God, is that all you care about?" She laughed at that and answered, "Honestly?" You remained silent, knowing very well exactly what she was planning to say next. "Yes."

You scoffed playfully at her exaggerated tone. "Dumb ass."

Andrea set her coffee down on the table in-front of her and gathered her hair in a quick bun. Then, a loud yawn erupted from beside you and you turned to see the woman next to you stretching out her arms. You cocked a brow.

She yawned again, her white shirt crinkling as she twisted her body to stretch herself out. Then, she mumbled, "Hey, didn't you say you wanted to go out today?"
