Jungkook's POV

None one liked negative confrontation. It's only humane. One can be told so many times never to avoid arguments in relationships... to keep them real and healthy, but that doesn't exactly make them any easier to go through.

Jungkook has learned that through firsthand experience.

Too many times has he been forced into a corner, strained to the point where he'd have no other option but to give in.

Give in, because no one was there to lend him a helping hand to withstand.

Moreover, he's given in to the judgement of his superiors, to his own doubts and worries that seemingly had no effect on him anymore, to the heartbreak caused by his first love.

Then, there was you.

You, who'd always given back what you received in return. You, who he'd found himself caring for much more than he should've.

You, who he'd chose to willingly give in to without being imposed by coercion.

And he didn't regret it. It was one of the most honest decisions he'd ever made.

The only thing Jungkook did regret, however, was not being able to protect you when it mattered, and that was something he won't ever be able to fix or undue.

No matter how much he wanted to, no matter how hard he tried.

And what made his situation with you so unbelievably hard to bear was the fact that it wasn't a mere 'teaching of something new'.

Instead, it served as a grave reality check for the both of you.

He went into this knowing the risks, knowing the possibility of suffering, and thus, trying to find ways around the loopholes that clouded him with negativity. Even so, despite all effort, you two still got caught in the end.

And so, he was forced into another corner.

Jungkook, knowing where his responsibilities lie, ultimately had another decision to make.

Though it wasn't one he necessarily wanted to make, by any means... it was a decision he was relatively prepared for, nonetheless.

After all, he already had his career. He already had his future, and quite frankly, was living it. But you weren't. And that sudden realization changed everything for him. You... have yet to find your future.

What's worse, was the fact that Jungkook was supposed to be the one guiding you towards it. He was supposed to be an instructor for you to learn from, not a fork in the road. And to top it all off, it wasn't an easy road to begin with.

It was for that reason why Jungkook tried so hard to convince you that this was all a mistake from the beginning, despite his own unwillingness to believe that himself.

Because he wasn't supposed to be part of the road to begin with.

He was simply a liability... preventing you from reaching the dreams you desired to achieve.

And after reading the comments said about you online, the comments that made you look as though you were all but an imposter of the woman he knew you to be, he lost all sense of rightful judgement. Which then influenced the anger he inflicted upon you.

It pained him knowing that you were willing

to work things out that day, to find ways around the rumours... when he'd been so hellbent on ending things completely.

It probably made him come across as heartless and unreasonable, to which he wouldn't blame you for that impression.

In the end, as much as it hurt him to be the reason for your tears, his evident pain was irrelevant to him as long as you were okay.
