The water swallowed me in its darkness and serenity. I opened my eyes. The bubbles and rapidly moving water sent a calming sensation through my body. I blew out all the air I was holding in my lungs. My body reached the surface, and I gasped for air. I was quickly re-submerged into the icy water as a monstrous wave toppled over me. And I thought of Draco, and how he was submerged in trouble. How I was his last little gasps of air, and how he needed me to survive, to go on living. He needed me now, and I wasn't there to help him, to pull him out of the water to rescue him. Another wave enveloped me in its darkness. I swam deeper, to where the water was less violent. I kicked hard to get to the dock. I could see it, about 15 feet in front of me. My lungs began to ache, and the urge to breathe was becoming more intense. I swam up towards the dock, pushing myself, fighting off the urge to breathe. As I kicked, my foot became entangled in mangled seaweed on the lake's muddy floor. I squirmed anxiously, trying to get free. My lungs were on fire with the desperation to inhale. I kicked hard one last time before letting the water invade my lungs. The last glimpse of life I held was a hand reaching down, my last glimpse of hope, trying to save me from what would be my end.
**Hermione**
"Is she gonna be okay?" Harry asked as Ella rushed out of the room.
"I-I'm not sure," Ginny answered, looking at me, then Harry.
Harry looked at me, and the to Ron. "I'm going to go make sure,"
Harry walked out of the room. Ron followed him like a puppy, pulling me along with him. We descended the stairs, down past the Great Hall, and out into the rain. Harry had picked up the pace, and was now jogging to search for her. Seamus had begun to follow us, once he noticed we weren't headed to the restroom.
Ella was off in the distance, headed out onto the dock.
"Ella!" Harry yelled as we got closer.
"Oh god," I whispered under my breath as she jumped into the fierce waters. Harry rushed to the edge of the dock, staring into the waves, as the rainfall soaked us.
"Ron," I whimpered, after she didn't surface.
"There!" Harry yelled, pointing into the water. Ella was underneath the water, deep, so the sight of her was faint.
Seamus attempted to move to the edge of the dock. Ron stopped him as Harry reached down to her, pulling her motionless body out of the water.
"Is she breathing?" I asked, tears forming in my eyes.
Seamus and Harry gave each other nervous looks. Then Harry began mouth to mouth on her lifeless body. Time ticked away, yet Harry kept going. It began to feel like hours as not a breath escaped her. My eyes started to swell with tears, and I buried my face into Ron's chest. I sobbed quietly as Harry continued. His counting and timed breaths soon stopped there after, and my heart sunk. I gasped as a sputtering coughin noise came from behind. I spun around, eyes wide, to see Ella sitting up, wrapped up by Seamus' arms.
"Oh Ella, why!?" I cried out.
She was gasping for air; Seamus' grip not helping any.
Harry, the unsung hero, stood behind them awkwardly.
"We should get her to Madam Pomrey," he said, putting a hand on Seamus' shoulder. He looked up at him in a denying agreement, and picked Ella up off the ground. Harry followed behind Seamus, who would be classified as on a mission.
"Ron, come on," I tugged.
"Sorry, thought I saw something," he said, staring intently at the water.
