I sit at my usual rock, waiting for bokuto, who came landing in front of me with a nervous smile. "Okay, so what's the big surprise you had for me?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. I leaned forward a bit out of curiosity.
"Right! I've got it right here." He said, digging through his pocket, and pulling out a folded piece of parchment, the edged singed for some reason. He unfolded it and showed it to me, my eyes going wide.
The photo was yellowed from age, holes burned through it at some spots, but it was still obvious. It was a wedding photo, of me and bokuto. My head spun, and I didn't know what to think, as hundreds of memories came flooding into my mind. This... This is why he seemed familiar. "Akaashi! Are you okay?" He asked me, placing his hands on my skin. It burned, but not badly. The spinning in my head slowed and I felt like I could speak.
"Yeah, I'm sorry."
"What happened?"
"Memmories came flooding into my head all at once. Everything feels explained. Well almost."
"Like what?"
"Why we didn't know each other. Why we seemed familiar to one another. Why we get along so well, we were married before."
"I know you told me about a nightmare where I died. Do you think that's how I died in the past?"
"Maybe. I... I don't know. You died in a fire. Now you're a fire breathing dragon. I... How? And how did I die?"
"I'm not sure. But we can figure it out, okay?" I nodded, and we started trying to figure out reasons, none of which sounded very plausible. But it was a start none the less, and it was the best we had.
