I was shaken awake by a pair of powerful arms. I woke up to a familiar face and golden eyes filled with fear. I smelled smoke and panicked, shooting up and scrambling out of bed, as soon as he yelled out, "WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE!" This felt terrifying and familiar. But it's impossible right? I mean, for gods sake, I'm on the land. I have legs! And I'm next to bokuto-san!
My legs moved on their own as my heart pounded, fire blazing around us as we ran to the door. I caught sight of a picture of the two of us, bokuto almost crying. Tears were in my eyes, and gold rings were on our fingers. We were both in suits, and I was holding flowers. Was this a wedding picture? Are we married?
I run not stopping until I reach the entrance and get out. I turn to look at him, but a flaming log had fallen in front of the doorway right after I had gotten out. People nearby had come with buckets trying with no avail to put out the flames. He was looking around frantically for an escape, when we heard the sound of wood giving out. He didn't have any time to react before a log crashed down on top of him, killing him immediately. I lived and he died. I'm crying, and my knees buckle, before I'm down on them and sobbing my eyes out as the sun begins to rise. The fire burns itself out as dawn rises over the horizon.
I wake up with a gasp and look around. I'm in my room, where I went to sleep. I still have a tail, and I'm alone. What the hell was that? That was so vivid! A nightmare perhaps? I haven't had any that realistic before. I gulp as I think of a possibility that frightens me.
Maybe it was... a memory?
