Time went on. Sapnap had come home from Texas and his personal family problems had been solved. He was out in the yard shooting some hoops in the midday sun while George and Dream were sipping lemonade chatting.
Sapnap had been quite quiet since he had got back, the other two weren't sure whether it was something that had happened at home or another issue. Sapnap dealt with things best on his own so they believed it best to give him some space.
Sapnap felt left out, he absolutely loved being together with the guys but he couldn't help feeling as though he had become an outsider. Dream and George were constantly together and he missed the times where him and Dream would sit and watch a game. He didn't want to say anything because he didn't want to seem off but it was clearly evident that something was playing on his mind. He placed down the ball and walked towards them.
"Can I ask you guys something?" Sapnap asked hesitantly, biting his lip clearly anxious.Dream and George looked up from their conversation noticing Sapnap was clearly worried and both replied "Yes of course" at the same time.
"Is-is something going on between you two?"'
Dream and George looked at eachother wide eyed and shocked. They knew Sapnap was going to find out at some point but they didn't know how to tell him.
"Umm" Dream rubbed his hand on the back of his neck and ran his hand through his hair.
"Nick, we need to talk to you". Dream explained "While you was away me and George spent some time together. There's always been something between us and since he's got here we've really got to explore that. He makes me feel safe, Sapnap, like I'm home".
George smiled as he heard his earlier description of their love echoed through Dreams words, to know he felt the same way. Sapnap looked away, tapping his foot and stood in silence for a moment. The two of them looked at each other worried at his response.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He said, his voice cracking a little.
"We were worried at how you would respond" Dream replied.
Sapnap stopped tapping and took a step towards Dream reaching out his arm and put it on Dreams shoulder.
"Dream" Sapnap said in a serious tone causing Dream to make direct eye contact, "I have known you for nearly ten years now. You should never be scared to tell me anything. I had gathered something was developing between the two of you and I'm more upset that you didn't have the feel as though you could tell me".
He sighed "I have always supported you through everything and my main priority is your happiness. I can tell you are clearly very very happy"
Dream looked at George and gave him a grin.
"I love you Dream, no matter who you love, it doesn't change anything. You're my brother man".
It was clear Sapnap was talking with deep compassion as his voice began to break as he took Dream into a big, warm hug. Dreams smile was as wide as it could possibly be, he felt as though a weight had been lifted and he could finally breathe.
"George" Sapnap said looking over to him now "Thank you for making my bestfriend happy".
George's lips curled into a little smile.
For the rest of the evening, the three of them watched a game of basketball. George had no idea what was going on but loved seeing his bestfriends so passionate and invested in something so watched anyway.
Sapnap and Dream could not take their eyes of the game. Patches was curled up next to George and he was stroking her tenderly and she purred in gratitude.
Soon after, he fell asleep resting his head on Dreams shoulder. Dream looked to his side and smiled, rubbing George's shoulder gently and pulling him in closer. Sapnap also smiled at his two bestfriends so utterly and deeply in love, happy that they now felt comfortable to be themselves around him and everything was good."Hey Dream" Sapnap whispered so that Dream could hear him but ensuring he didn't wake George.
Dream looked to see Sapnaps eyes gazing back at him
"Thank you for telling me".
Dream smiled "You're welcome".
