Chapter 2

RACES POV 

Jack, Albert and I were walking down the street when in an Alley we saw the Delancey's were cornering one very unlucky girl. "What are you'se two goons doing" Jack asked as all three of them looked over. "HELP" the girl yelled. I recognized the girl she had bought a paper from me earlier in the day. 

Jack took Oscar while Albert and I took Morris. I punched him square in the jaw getting a punch back in the gut. Albert kicked Morris right in the no-no square as he fell I gave him a sharp kick in the side. "Oscar let's go" they both huffed away and all three of us turned to the girl. 

The girl looked a bit beat up and extremely scared. "Hey are you Okay?" I asked. She looked shocked and was shaking. I went over and gave her a hug as she melted into it and started crying. I looked back at Albert and Jack who just stared back as they decided to sit until she calmed down as I still held her tight, like she would blow away if I didn't hold her tight enough. 

After she was a bit more calm Jack asked "So what's your name? I'm Jack this is Racer and Albert" Jack pointed to both of us. "I'm Y/N" the girl said through sniffles. "What happened?" Albert asked. "I was just walking down the street and they were talking to me but I ignored them and they brought me into the alley an-" She started sobbing again as she recalled what had happened with the Delancey's. We waited a bit longer until I asked in the softest voice I could so I wouldn't scare her"So where do you live so we can bring you back" "I-I'm an Orp-phan" she stuttered out. 

"Let's bring her back to the lodge so she has somewhere to stay tonight" Albert said as Jack agreed. 

ALERTS POV 

I was walking next to Y/N her breathing was very shaky. She sounded on the verge of tears again. I felt real bad for her as I wrapped an arm around her shoulders which she gratefully melted into. 

The walk was silent until I tired lightning the mood with some terrible jokes. "Knock Knock"  I said "who's there" Y/N said with a slight smile creeping on her face. "Interrupting Cow" I said and smirked as Race and Jack rolled their eyes because they knew what would happen next. "Interrupting Cow Wh-" I cut Y/N off by yelling "MOOOOOOOOOOOO" and she let out a hearty laugh. "Mission Complete" I thought to myself. It felt nice to make Y/N smile even though she had just been through something terrible. 

Before I knew it we were outside the Lodging house as Jack said "here we are home sweet home" She smiled. 

We walked inside the lodging house as many eye's faced Y/N. Jack spoke up "Gent's this roight hear is Y/N foist off don't embarrass meh and second off don't be your normal slefs" we chuckled as Jack walked off. 

Y/N POV 

We walked into the lodging house as Jack introduced me I thanked all the boys profusely for letting me stay there for the night. Race grabbed my hand and brought me over to a small table were some boys were playing poker as those boys introduced themselves. 

There were a lot of names and I could't keep up with them all so I just nodded and smiled. They boys were nice and welcoming which I really appreciated. I got up to look for Jack so I could thank him for letting me stay the night."Hello Gorgeous" a small boy said "Enough Romeo" Jack said as he walked over with another boy hobbling behind him. "Hiya I'm Crutchie" the boy said and stuck out his hand which I shook "Hi I'm Y/N" "Nice to meet you Y/N so what brings you to the world lodging house" the boy smiled. I looked around nervously when Race's voice came from behind me "cause she is Crutchie" Race said. I smiled at Race and thanked him for the save. 

"Alright Boy's we should be hittin the Hay" Jack yelled as some groaned and other got up and made their way to the rooms. "Racer" Jack's voice boomed "there's a free bunk in your room right?" "Yep" said Race. "Alright she sleeps in there, Night Y/N" said Jack "Goodnight Jack" I said he gave me a warm smile and walked up the stairs. 

"Okay Y/N so you'se sleeping in me and Albert's room so lets go" Race said grabbing my arm and leading me up 2 flights of stairs with Albert right behind me. "TADA" they both said in unison. The room was small with 2 bunk beds. Race's bed was the one on the bottom closets to the door. Albert's was the one right above Race's and a boy I recognized as JoJo came in. His bunk was on the top of the other bunk bed leaving me the bottom one. "Here you are Y/N" said Race and he patted the bed as I got in it. "Thank you so much for letting me stay here tonight" I thanked them yet again. "It's okay plus we're happy you're here" Albert said "OooooHhhhh" said Jojo and Albert went as red as his hair as I laughed "Night everyone".
