Chapter 8

RACES POV 

Y/N and I made our way downstairs as she headed off to work with Jack again early but before she could go I had to give her a kiss. I saw Albert leave the lodge annoyed at the sight of us kissing. I decided I needed to talk to him "HEY AL SLOW DOWN I NEED TO TALK TO YA" I yelled thankfully he stopped because I did not want to keep running. "Hey Al whats going on you've been really cold these past few days, did I do something?" I asked "Yes" Albert replied and kept walking. I ran right in front of him "What" I asked. "Look I like Y/N I thought it was kinda obvious but then you came down and swooped Y/N away and I just need some time to think". I stood there shocked at what Albert had just said.

I made my way over to newsie square bought my papes and went up to Jojo. "Have you noticed that Albert always seems Angry now" I asked "Yeah kinda, why do you know something?" "Yeah" I said "Really spill it" he said eagerly. "Fine but on the way to our selling spot."

We walked a bit then I spilled it all and he just stood there confused. "So does he still like Y/N?" Jojo I asked. The truth is I didn't know but I really hoped he didn't.

I tried selling and acting like everything was fine but it wasn't I had a few papes left but I didn't care. "You know what Jojo I'se really kinda mad so I'se gonna go and clear me head" I said he just nodded and told me not to do anything stupid. God how I wish I listened to him. 

I went over to Brooklyn to see Spot and ask him for a favor. Spot had many friends, many Friends with access to alcohol. "What are you doing here" I heard one of the Brooklyn newsies yell. "I need to talk to Spot" I said back. "But does he want to see you" He asked "Yes" Spots voice boomed over the two of us arguing. "What can I'se do for ya Racer" Spot asked. "Do you remember that time I caught you making out with Kathrine?" I asked Spots face went red before he could saying anything "I didn't tell anyone and I really need you to return the favor please" I said. "What do'es you'se need?" Spot asked "To get drunk" I explained. A smile played it's ways on to Spots lips as he brought me to an underground wine cellar. 

Spot and I both grabbed a bottle on wine and sat down. "So why'd you need wine to fix you'se problems?" I explained the whole Albert liking my girlfriend situation to him. "Geez that's gotta hurt, just scare him a bit and he will back off" Spot said. We each finished our bottle of wine as I stumbled my way back to Manhattan. 

I walked up the steps of the Manhattan Newsies Lodging house. "ALBERT COME OUT HERE " I yelled. "Huh" Albert said as I pushed him up against the wall and punched him repeatedly. I continued to pound him until I heard "RACE STOP" Y/N yelled but I pushed her out of the way, hard. She stumbled back she was about to fall when Jack caught her. 

"ALRIGHT EVERYONE BREAK IT UP" Jack yelled. I dropped Albert with a thud he landed and Jack asked Y/N if she was okay she nodded while looking at me but she started crying and ran out of the room. I tried to run to her but Jack grabbed me, "I think you've done enough" he said. 

"NOW WHAT HAPPENED" Jack yelled. "Albert is in love with my girlfriend!" I Yelled. Everyone looked around shocked. "Ok Uhh not what I'se was Expecting you'se to say" Jack said. 

We all looked around confused for a second before Albert said "Someone needs to check on Y/N" Like hell he would. "Yeah but not Albert" I spit. "Race just take a walk and cool down first" Jack told me. 

ALBERTS POV 

Once Race left the lodge and Specs checked me out, I decided to look for Y/N. I found her On the fire escape crying. "Hi Y/N" I said softly, she turned to me still crying as I sat next to her with an arm around her shoulder. "Are you okay, what was that abou-" she cut herself off before continuing "and I got scared when Race pushed me and I-" this time I cut her off by hugging her as tight as I could. "Y/N I'm fine, Race was drunk and mad because I told him that well" I looked in her soft, beautiful face. "Well because I also like you" 

Y/N was taken aback but before she could say anything I pressed my lips to hers. She stayed still but I tried to kiss her. She pulled back just looking even more shocked and she got up to leave. "Wait Y/N I'm sorry." 

With that she left as I stayed out on the fire escape thinking about what I had just done was so incredibly stupid. 

Also you guys this is my first wattpad book and I didn't know people could see what you're writing before it's completely  published so If you read some parts and were wondering why it looked like such a hot mess I fixed it  and  should make sense now. let me know what you guys think.
