Lan Qingheng and his children went back to their Kingdom the next day. They had set off earlier than decided because of a message sent from their palace in Gusu. Wei Ying was still asleep when they left. He went to sleep late in the night before, cause he was with Lan Zhan. He never thought he would sleep in.

When he woke up and knew that they went back, he couldn't help but blame himself for not being there to see them off.

After a few days he went back to his usual self and began all his mischiefs and pranks. Though it was  more than before. Nobody knew why this young master suddenly become a lot more handful. His brothers tried their hardest to keep him out of trouble.

They could only comfort themselves as he never done any harm to others. If he did any pranks it's all on his brothers and that's a given. After all they're siblings. Where in the world siblings won't fight or play pranks on each other?

Moreover Wei Ying still continued his experiments in his secret cave. He was moderate at first and only went there once in a week. Lately he went there every three days or two days and spend more time in there doing all kinds of experiments. He failed a lot but was successful at the end.

A year passed just like that. Wei Ying improved in his cultivation and he also mastered in demonic cultivation. Though he never told anyone about him practicing demonic cultivation.

His brothers once tried to follow him to the cave because of his sudden lond disappearance from the palace. However Wei Ying avoided that encounter everytime. The first time they nearly reached the cave, but Wei Ying saw them before they went in to the cave. Since then he installed tracking devices that he made and talismans on the way to the cave so that it could notify him if there is any intruder.

Wei Cangse too noticed her youngest son acting more weirder than before. So she took him to pray in a temple in the mountain. After praying the mother and son pair went to the backyard of the temple where the cliff is. They sat near there in the lawn. They gazed at the enthralling view silently.

"A-ying... Tell me honestly... Is there something troubling you?" Wei Cangse asked worriedly putting an end to the quietness.

Wei Ying startled out of his daze and gaped. " ... No... It's nothing Ma..." He lie to his mother even if he wants to. So he could only gave a vague reply.

Though his answer confirmed her worries. She had suspected about why he wad like this, thus asked directly. "Is it because of Lan Zhan?"

Wei Ying whipped his head to look at his mother. Was he that obvious?

Seeing him confused Cangse smiled and said. "You weren't that obvious." She answered as if she knew what's on his mind. "But you are my child. If i couldn't understand you, then who would? Don't you know the saying 'mother knows everything'?"

Wei Ying laughed at that. His eyes and mind wandered far away. He himself didn't know why he acts like this and why Lan Zhan's absence makes him this restless. They only knew for a short while. They didn't even know that much about each other. Then why he feels this emptiness in his heart? Why he still remember everything they did and said till this day?

He thought talking this to someone might give him the answers. And if it's not his mother then who can be the perfect one to share his worries?   He began "I don't know Ma why i'm like this... It's true that i feel this emptiness since he left. But i couldn't put my finger into it. I don't know why i give him this much of an importance... But i know he is special... Special to me... I have this feeling that we can be great friends forever."
