"....Ah, so it's like that...." Zhan tilted his head and asked. "Why?"

Lan Qingheng said with an aloof look. "Because you took something that belonged to me."

Zhan was getting tired of asking questions and receiving answers as vague as it could be. "Me? What is it?"

"Yes you boy. You will know later about everything." Lan Qingheng sighed. "I should have killed you earlier."

The disappointment was clear in his words and Zhan felt if he wanted to, he will kill him anytime. But instinct told him that he don't have to worry about getting killed for now. Thus he felt calm and collected despite he was still in danger.

With things being like this Zhan knew Lan Qingheng won't give him an exact answer. So he chose to end the unnecessary Q&A. "Can i have some water?" He asked lazily.

Not expecting this kind of response, Lan Qingheng stared at him. Then he chuckled and stood up. "Pardon my rudeness. I should have treated my guest nicely. You must be hungry. " He stated.

He snapped his fingers and a shadow appeared behind him. Without turning to look he ordered. "Lead him to the room. Give him whatever he need."

Then he said to Zhan. "I think we can continue our chat later. You should rest for a while." He walked a few steps to the door then as if he remembered something he stopped to look at him and said. "It's no use trying to get help while you are here. No one can rescue you. If you have any hopes like that, you can get rid of it sooner. It's better if you could regain your memories too or else i have to force it." He paused for a moment like he was deliberating over something. "Ah, i should tell you another thing. I assume you didn't forget David, do you?"

"What about him?" Zhan had a foreboding feeling hearing David's name coming from him.

With a chuckle Lan Qingheng said like he was telling a joke. "Nothing much. He just gone off to a journey to the south."

Zhan narrowed his, with all laziness gone. "Can you please talk normally?"

"Oh okay okay... Guess you still love him huh? I know he is a handsome boy, who could resist him. But then what about my son?" He asked with fake concern.

If someone could lend him a stick, Zhan would have given him a good beating and a lecture about how to speak with others. He was getting more irritated by this roundabout ways of an old vampire who claims to be the father of genius children a.k.a Yibo and his sisters. Zhan thought that they must have got their mother's traits more than this man.

Lan Qingheng might have seen the look in his eyes. He said casually. "I killed him. He finished his job and i don't have any use of him. In fact he is really bothersome. I think he got a change of heart. Who knows, he might have gotten you out of here if he felt guilty. I don't need someone like him as my lackey." He turned to walk while saying "You can pray for his soul while you are at it. He doesn't have any kin in this world. Weren't you two lovers, so you could be considered someone close to him. And if you want to cry, please feel free to do so."

Before Zhan could reply, Lan Qingheng left there. The shadow came forward and helped Zhan to stand, then led him to a room. He was in a dazed state all the while.

The room was an average size with a bed, a table and a chair as the only furnitures in it. An en suite bathroom on the left side of the room. The shadow untied his hands and legs.

The shadow man already disappeared when Zhan came back to his senses. He stared into the white plain wall replaying the things Lan Qingheng said to him.
