Chapter 16

Zhan's Pov

It's already time for lunch break. Before the bell goes off i got a message from David telling me to have lunch with him. Along with my two friends i went to the cafeteria where i spot him sitting with one of his friends.

We have brought our lunch from home so we went straight there.

"Hey" I greeted.

"Uh.. Hey... Sit Zhan" David gestured the chair next to him.

Before i could sit there someone snatched the chair from me. I don't know where he popped up.

This vampire and his sneaky nature.

"I thought you won't eat here" He had said before that he won't be around too much. And definitely not at lunch time. Then why is here now?

"I don't discriminate places. I'm hungry and I'm going to eat." He replied as if he is irritated by my question.

"Then why here? Don't you have friends in your own department?"

"No"

"Huh?"

"I didn't make any friends in my class. Also you are responsible to take care of me as a native here. I know your friends too. Can't i eat with you guys?" Yibo turned to ask my friends.

Zuocheng's eyes darted between Yibo and me. "Of course you can Yibo. You are Zhan's friend, so of course you're our friend too."

I didn't know Zuocheng is that easy to befriend. Where's my real Cheng?

"Thank you Zuocheng. Then why wait? Let's eat guys." Yibo took out his bento and started to eat. I didn't think too much into it and sat beside him. Yibo put more of his food on to my lunch box.

We finished our lunch silently. All this while David didn't speak to me. It was like he was in his own bubble.

When i saw my friends and Yibo walking out i approached David.

"Hey, i know you want to talk to me. I do too. So how about we meet outside? Are you free this evening?"

David raised his brows and stared at me for a moment. It's the first time i ever asked him to meet me outside of our college. I don't have many options. I shouldn't continue like this.

"Yeah.. I'm free..."

"Then meet me at the park. I'll be there at 4.30."

"Okay... Thanks Zhan" A small smile played on his lips.

Why he is thanking me? "For what?"

"This is the first time you asked me out since we have known. I thought it's only a one sided love from me. But now you took the initiative to have a date with me. I'm happy" He said. A genuine smile again could be seen on his face.

Oh god!!! What have i done? This is not what i planned. But how am i gonna tell him the truth? Maybe i'll tell him later.

With that said we parted our ways to get to our respective classes. I send a message to Yang  ge that i'll be late to get home. I couldn't read the reply cause the professor has already arrived.

Yibo's Pov

What are you doing Zhan?

I saw him talking to that David. Yes, it made me jealous but i know what he is trying to do. So i suppressed myself and listened their conversation. I got good hearing. Perks of being a vampire.
