That is how the Izuku spent the month. Before he knew it, the final exams were just a day away. He grabbed the blanket, tucking it under his chin, getting ready for bed. Shoot, how could lose track of time?!
"Sensei, tomorrow we have to go to school..."
Sensei pranced towards the fluffy couch pillow that Mito had given him, it was placed beside Izuku's head. The cat's face came into the teen's view, "Huh, why?"
"Exams..." He groaned, right, he has yet to graduate from that shitty school. Sensei moved from his fluffy pillow, and rested on curling up on Izuku's chest, observing his kid.
The cat laid his head down, away from facing the child's eye directly, "Your skinny ass will be fine,"
Still unsure, his insecurities grew, gnawing his heart, "I'll be fine?"
The cat sensed his discomfort which triggered something in the little yokai's body. Sensei stood on his white chubby legs, moving smoothly close to the kid's face, Madara booped his nose against Izuku's.
"You might be a chicken, a weakling, but this time your bony ass has gained some backbone. You no longer will go down without a fight, and if you fall down, just stand up again; as easily as that. I'll always be there to protect your useless self, and when you can't fight anymore, just leave it to me."
Izuku gaped at the cat, before a small, but a watery smile was drawn on his face. "Sensei, Have I told you how much I love you!"
Sensei turned red at the confession, which was a cute and rare sight to see, Izuku hugged the tsundere, "LET GO OF ME!" The cat clawed the teen's face, "NEVER!" he endured the pain with a bright grin which didn't wear off as the cat resigned to his fate.
"Sensei, can I ask you a question?"
"What is it?" the cat grumbled out as tried to move in a comfortable position in his human hold.
"If that is how you felt about me then where the hell were you when Moya-san attacked me?" He gave a dead pan expression to the cat who grew still in his arms.
"Ah, that...I was there..." Sensei had an awkward grin on his face and avoided the deadpan stare he's receiving.
"I know you were there, why didn't you save me?"
"Because it was not needed," Sensei sighed as he looked up at the emerald, no longer dull but bright that shone with emotions that the teen couldn't comprehend when they first met. "Sometimes you just have to go through hard shit to know that you are not the person people have labelled you with."
Izuku bit his lower lip, "What people labelled me..." It came out as a pondering statement, he knew how people viewed him, weak, disgusting, waste of space, unwanted child. The last one no longer stung, as Mito and Dabi's face came into his blurry vision. Izuku broke out of his trance when the cat spoke again.
"But a capable person that will no longer pray for miracles and will actually grab the miracle with their own hands. When no one is saving you, you just have to save yourself. That is what you did when you fought against the mist, so I didn't interfere with the fight... Also, the slimy asshole wasn't going to kill you, just so ya know."
Izuku stared at the cat for a few seconds before facing the ceiling, he snorted, his heart never felt as light as it was now, in this moment. "You sure have your way with words, but thanks Sensei; that was the sincerest thing you have ever said to me."
