One month later..

Izuku held the letter with shaky hands. He looked up at the glowing smile of
Mito's and the grumpy frown on Dabi's. Then at Sensei's fed up face, "What are you waiting for, open it!?" Mito insisted with a contagious enthusiasm.

"B-But what if they reject me?!"

"Pssh, that ain't gonna happen," Mito ruffled her bean's hair.

"That is a possibility," With practiced ease she punched Dabi's gut while talking to Izuku.

"And why is that?" She asked with fond eyes.

Dabi made puking noise, and this time he was K.O-ed.

Izuku's cheek reddened, but his jitteriness faded, "Because I'm your son..."

Hearing Izuku say that they had connection made Mito soar with happiness. Dabi was fed up with them puking rainbows, so he took matters in his hand. The scarred man snatched the letter away from the freckled teen, and took the honors off reading the content of the damn paper.

"Hey!" Izuku shouted at his elder brother, but stopped when Dabi started reading out loud, "Midoriya Izuku, we are happy to have you in our hero classes, you are to be placed in 1-A. So, after all you made it, uh, lame~"

"I-I made it?" Izuku asked, and then it was confirmed by the proud smile his mom shot him. "What did I tell you? No son of mine is fated to fail!"

Mito did a celebratory dance, but Dabi was as annoying as ever, disregarding the effort he had put in to pass in the exam, "U.A's exam must have been easy as hell for a weakling like you to be admitted in."

This mother-, Izuku jumped on the elder male, and started biting his cheek. "GET OF ME!" Dabi batted the teen away, but Izuku was hanging on, biting even harder.

Mito clapped her hands and trotted away to make the best meal ever.

Dabi stopped fighting the kid that was mimicking a koala, he brought his hands and patted the younger's back, "Congrats in making it in,"

The biting stopped, Izuku hid his face in the crook of older's neck. "I can't believe it, I'm one step closer to achieving my dream," It came out as a mumble, But Dabi heard it. Humming for a second, the scarred man sat on the log, now he's got his arms full of a messed up teen.

"Your dream which is to be a hero..."

Izuku froze for a second, he shook his head, "No, I won't ever be able to be hero."

Dabi blinked in confusion, "But wasn't that why you applied for UA, to be a hero?"

The greenette raised his head up, staring into distance, "Being a hero was always a dream for me, an unattainable dream in the perspective of others. Heros are not necessarily ally of justice, and they aren't able to save every single person out there, especially those under unfortunate circumstances, or those are drowning in poverty."

No hero was there to save him when he was starving to death.

No hero was there to save him from his mother when she watched him bleed to death.

Not even the symbol of peace, All Might was there to save him even when he called out for help, he shut him down.

Dabi brought his hand over to the green curls, "That is true,"

Izuku nuzzled into the warm hands, "I believe that not every villain is also a bad guy, so I'm not really aiming to be a hero that the society colors me in. I want to be my own person, you know that is able to change people with a touch of kindness."
