Eichi walked away, keeping her calm but inside, she broke into a million pieces as her tears fell unbeknownst to the one she walked away from.

He cried, "Please don't do this," as he slowly descended onto the cold pavement, kneeling, while crying his heart out as he watched her leave.

He didn't mean for this to happen and she didn't either. But maybe they just weren't each other's 'til death does us part.

"Haa," Eichi sighed, her breath visible in the air, as she walked home with Tobio on a cold winter night. The breeze and air were cold but no snow yet during the day.

"I'm sorry I brought you home late," he apologized as he stuffed his hands into the pocket of his jacket.

"oh no, I don't mind at all," she replies giving him a small smile, which he attempts to return but his smile looked awkward, obvious that he didn't do this kind of stuff. She giggled and looked at the sky. Inside, Tobio was also smiling genuinely, even though he can't do it physically, he could feel he was happy.

"The sky seems to have a lot more stars than usual," Eichi commented making Tobio look at the sky, both stopping in their tracks to admire the sky's beauty.

They look at the sky with admiration and determination in their eyes. Both thinking about their dreams, and the future. Then suddenly, something falls onto Eichi's eyelash, startling the girl and caused her to blink in an attempt to get rid of the foreign object. Tobio then looks at the girl who now had her head down and was blinking furiously, he started to laugh at how she looked.

"What?" Eichi said with a smile. "Nothing," he managed to calm down. Then more of the foreign object falls onto their hair, like dust but white.

"Oh!" Eichi then realizes what had fallen onto her eyelash earlier.

"Snow!" they both shout out in realization. It was the first snowfall of the winter, and they were together in the middle of a walk home.

So peaceful, and yet that was the calm before the storm.

"No way, for me?" she asked, he nodded.

"Of course, for who else?" he asked with a chuckle.

"I don't know, maybe my best friend?" she answered with her thoughts. The teenage boy's smile quickly turned into a frown as he realized what he had done.

"I know, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that," he said with a sad tone and he couldn't look her in the eyes.

"Why?" Shigatsu worriedly asked Eichi who had her nose stuck in a book, her mind focused on passing her upcoming test.

Eichi ignored her best friend and continued re-reading her review materials. She tried her best to not let her tears fall on the spot and make her best friend worry even more. Eichi already knew Shigatsu had a lot on her plate as well. She hoped for Shigatsu to leave the topic alone and just focus on their test.

"Tooru not now!" Shigatsu almost shouts at Tooru who was bugging her about Eichi. Saying he needed to see her and check on her, he ran to Eichi's house. When he arrived, he ran to the front door unlocking it with the emergency key he had, then ran upstairs. He was panting as he held the staircase railing to keep him from tripping and in front of Eichi's room was Shigatsu. Seems like Eichi wanted to be alone. After knowing what had happened, Tooru was furious, at himself and Tobio.

Tooru liked Eichi, Shigatsu knew that but she couldn't help her emotions towards Seijoh's setter. She even did her best to avoid him at times to help lessen the pain in her chest when she sees him with her best friend. She's happy for them, but she wasn't so happy with herself.
