VIII - Orange fluff meets dog

Kanae Eichi's POV

"Let me just go and get my drink outside"

"Sure, no problem, we'll go order first," Kageyama-kun assured

I walked outside and saw Shi-chan sipping her coffee and holding my drink.

"You forgot your milk bruh," she told me as she handed it to me.

"Yeah.. haha, I'll get going now, talk to you later! I'll tell you aaallll of the details" I told her, then I grabbed my drink and went inside.

I sat down.

"Sorry I brought a friend if you don't mind. This is Hinata," Kageyama-kun introduced me to the orange fluff.

"Hi! I'm Kanae Eichi! Nice to meet you" I said cheerfully

"Hinata Shoyo, nice to meet you," he said smiling widely.

"You know her?" Asked Hinata-kun as he pointed to Shi-chan outside.

"Yep! She's actually my best friend that came along as well," I explained

"Well, why won't she come inside then?" He asked, confused

"That's because she's got a pet with her and, animals aren't allowed inside Coffee Box," I explained

"Oh, well she needs company!" Hinata-kun said and dashed outside. Leaving Kageyama-kun and me inside.

Hinata bowed and probably greeted Shi-chan. Then, she bowed as well. Hinata-kun sat beside her.

"Kageyama-san?" Said the man on the counter, holding two drinks.

"Oh, let me just get that," said Kageyama-kun and he stood up to get the orders.

I glanced outside and saw Hinata-kun holding Luna. But Shi-chan quickly shoved Luna into Hinata-kun's coat. I think she scolded Hinata-kun for keeping Luna in the cold and not in his coat.

I smiled. At least she's having fun.

I looked and Kageyama-kun already placed his drink on our table and saw that he was already walking outside. Probably to give Hinata-kun his drink.

I looked outside again and saw Shi-chan getting Luna from Hinata-kun and Hinata-kun, getting his drink from Kageyama-kun.

Then Kageyama-kun went back inside.

"Okay... Um, how do you... Know me?" I asked

"Ah right. Do you really not remember me? Kanae-san?"

"Really sorry, but no," I said sincerely

"Alright, well I think you still remember Iwaizumi-san and Oikawa-san,"

"Yeah of course! I went to Kitagawa- OH MY GOSH!" I said as I covered my mouth because of realization

"You okay?" He asked concerned

"Yeah, just shocked," I said
"You! You're that boy! The one that always hung out around us, especially when Oika and Iwa were playing volleyball!" I continued

"Uhh heh, yeah that's me," he said shyly

"I. Am. So. Sorry. I forgot about you! Can I hug you right now?"

"Yeah sure," he said and stood up. I hugged him tightly but still politely.

"I can't believe my memory! How can it forget such an amazing person?" I muttered to myself

"Is that all you need to know Kanae-san?" He asked

"Yeah... Pretty much. Oh, and please, you don't need to call me Kanae-san. You can call me Ei-chan if you want to," I said and smiled.

He nodded and glanced outside. Hinata-kun and Shi-chan were having a lot of fun.

After around an hour of catching up...
"Should we go now?" He asked

"Yeah sure," I said and we walked outside.

"Shi-chan~ Let's go now," I said to her

"Huhhhh?? But I was still having fun with Shoyo," she whined

"Hinata let's go," Kageyama-kun also said

"But but- I was still having fun with Shigatsu!"

Kageyama-kun and I looked at each other. Then back to our companions.

"Let's go Hinata. We have volleyball practice" Kageyama-kun asked once again.

Hinata-kun sighed. He hugged Shi-chan. Shi-chan hugged back.

"I'll miss you Shigatsu"

"I'll miss you too Shoyo"

"You guys met for an hour!" Kageyama-kun said, shocked

"A lot can happen in ten minutes," Hinata-kun said

"An hour with someone worth it, is better than an hour of someone who doesn't even care," said Shi-chan

"What are you saying- anyways, they have practice! We better not delay them," I said and peeled Shi-chan off of Hinata-kun

"Byeee," said Shi-chan

"Bye Shigatsu! Bye to Luna as well!" Hinata waved goodbye.

As if Shi-chan forgot she had a puppy inside her coat pocket, she was startled and then pulled Luna out. Making her say goodbye to both boys as they waved goodbye to us as well.

"Well.. that was interesting," I said

Shi-chan looked at me. "Well?? How does the genius setter know you?" She asked

"Oh, yeah. Um. Kinda awkward. I actually forgot about him. When he told me about Kitagawa First, and Oika-chan, and Iwa-chan, I remembered that there was another boy, I never knew his name though. I think I told him mine, but I never asked for his. That's probably why I don't remember him." I storied as we walked home

"Hmm, I kinda guessed that he was someone from your childhood" she replied

"How 'bout you and Hinata-kun?" I asked her

I saw Shi-chan smile. "He was fun! Like legit, he was cheery and all happy, he almost dropped Luna HAHAHAHA other than that, he's a great person. I'd tell you more, but we're already home." She explained

I looked and she was right.

"Okay! See you on Monday!" She shouted as she walked away to her home.

"Yep! Byee!" I shouted back and I went inside.
