IV - Skating

Kanae Eichi's POV

I went to school today, feeling like I forgot something. I looked in my bag if I had my ID, my wallet, and my phone.

Everything was there. Hmmm, I wonder what I forgot. I just shrugged it off. Maybe it's nothing.

I proceeded to the classroom and saw Shi-chan at her phone again.

"Ohayo, Shi-chan," I said as I put my bag down and sat down beside her.

"Ohayo~" she replied, still looking at her phone. Then she switched her phone off and looked at me.

"Hey, let's go get some drinks, I'm thirsty," she said

"Sure let's go"

We went to a vending machine close to the classroom. It was still quite far, but it was the closest one.

We grabbed our drinks then walked back to the class.

We played an online game and then stopped when the teacher came.

~Dismissal~

"Ooh, Shi-chan you've got practice today?" I asked because I got curious.

"No, but I decided to still go to the rink today, wanna come with me?"

"Sure why not," I said

We went to the Ice skating gym. She just removed her shoes then swapped them for skates.

She looked at me.

"What? Is there something on my face?" I asked then wiped the sides of my mouth and looked at my sleeve. Nothing was on my face.

She then stood up, went outside, then came back with a pair of skates.

"Check if these are your size," she said

I hesitantly took them from her then wore them.

"Well..? Do they fit?" She asked as she tied the shoelace since it was my first time wearing these.

"Yeah, they fit well," I replied

She didn't remove the orange thingy, which I guess protects the blade until we got to the rink.

It was hard to walk since I was standing on a blade. I kept wobbling.

"I think I'm going to sprain myself if I keep wobbling," I said while nervously laughing.

"Don't worry, if you sprain yourself, I'll laugh at you" she said

I hit her. Then we both laughed.

She guided me to the rink and then she removed the orange thingy on the bottom of the blade.

At first, I really couldn't stand up. She made it look so effortless. The way she jumps, leaps, turns and spins.

~2 hours later~

I got to glide on the ice but I still couldn't quite turn or leap. It took some time but she taught me how to at least spin on the ice.

I got pretty dizzy. So we stopped for a moment.

I sat on a bench then watched her glide across the ice. Doing some tricks.

Then I went back to the rink. A few minutes passed, not sure how many.

While we were doing a few skates, a ringtone echoed in the gym. It was my ringtone.

I rushed to my bag, careful not to slip and fall.

I took out my phone

Iwa-chan is calling

I picked up

"Moshi Moshi?"

"Yo, Ei-chan, where are you and Hinode-san?" I looked at Shi-chan then back to the ice.

Shi-chan probably noticed and went to my side.

"Who's that?" She whispered

"Well.." I started but was soon cut off

"The practice match is about to start"

"Practice match what-" I immediately stopped because I completely forgot about that. That's what I forgot about!

I ended the call. I looked at Shi-chan and she was panicking as well. We both got up, she removed her skates and she removed mine.

We both wore our shoes, then locked the gym up.

"C'mon let's go!" I shouted

"Yeah, yeah," she said as she got her bag that was on the floor. Because she set it down there when she locked the gym up.

We ran back to Seijoh. We were both panting when we got back.

We were only at the gate though. So we ran again. To the gym.

When we got there, the match has already started.

Shi-chan removed her vest. But I chose not to. I pulled down the white shirt underneath the vest so that her tummy won't show.

There were a lot of boys here. No one paid attention when we entered. Iwa-chan and Kindaichi-san saw us enter though. But they resumed with the game.
