The following days were enormously exhausting. I was recognised ten times more often on the streets than before, sometimes I was even followed by paparazzi and I felt like I was being watched at all times.
The university was no better, I had absolutely no chance to catch up on all the material I had missed and because I didn't dare go outside after two days of constant paparazzi pursuit, I missed even more.
Sophia complained that even she was followed on her way to work and Jared assured us that the onslaught would be over in a week or two as there were new headlines on other topics.
So next week's exam was out of the question, I spent my days talking to Damiano and Vic on the phone and sitting in my flat.
I also informed myself once again about how legal proceedings would proceed if I really wanted to try to report my father. I knew Damiano wished I would try it, but we hadn't talked about it again.
Vic had really cried a lot when she watched the video and I missed her incredibly.
Måneskin had started working on their new album and I regularly got photos and videos from the studio. There was a storm on the internet after I confirmed that Damiano and I were together. Of course, many people had already suspected it anyway, but after they found out the story behind our love, we were named Europe's new dream couple and Sophia had been making fun of us ever since.
It was Friday lunchtime and I had to go shopping to cook dinner, but decided against it and ordered pizza for Sophia and me instead. I was hunched over papers from university, but I'd actually given up on this semester days ago, it wasn't going to work out anyway with all the stress.
Sophia was in her room, listening to loud music, and I could hear the cars in front of the house.
I decided to sit down at the piano and play a few tunes to clear my head, but it didn't really help.
A fresh breeze came through the window from outside and I wondered if I shouldn't go out for a walk, maybe it would help."Sophia, I'm going for a walk," I called into my sister's room and grabbed my jacket, I put on sunglasses even though it was cloudy and put my hair in a bun.
Hopefully no one would recognise me. To signal that I would not be spoken to, I put on a pair of headphones, though I doubted it would keep the really annoying reporters away.
It was chilly outside, even though it was spring. I put my hands in my jacket pocket and started walking, listening through the headphones to a playlist Vic had sent me.There was a lot going on in the streets of London, cars kept speeding past me and I could hear them even through the loud music. The typical British apartment buildings were everywhere. Although I lived in a quieter part of town, there were many small shops on the sides of the streets, I walked past the flower shop where Sophia worked, but it was already closed. I also passed a few supermarkets, I thought about doing some quick shopping on the way back, now that I was here anyway.
I walked past the entrance of a bar I had been to a few times, there were always small live concerts there at weekends and I had played there a few times myself, but there didn't seem to be anything special going on today, there were no people standing in front of the entrance.
My legs led me to a small park, which was bathed in beautiful golden light when I arrived. The sun was setting on the horizon and I breathed in the pleasant air, felt the sun's rays, rare for London, on my skin and enjoyed the warmth they radiated.
I took off my sunglasses to look at the scene in the right light and lost myself in the sight of the light lost on the surface of the small lake that had been created in the middle of the park.
