Early in the morning I went for a walk with Chili. The sun was not yet very high in the sky and the temperature was pleasant, but the little dog was still panting when she sniffed at a house wall.

My mobile phone rang just as I told Chili to go on walking, "Hi", I said as soon as I answered it, "It's a shame you're calling now, I told your mum she could talk to you".

There was no answer, I waited a few seconds then I said, "Hello? Damiano?"
"It's not Damiano," it was a woman's voice I didn't recognise.

"Oh," I said, confused, "Where is he and why are you calling me from his phone?", I asked in fear that anything bad had happened to him.
"He dialled the number but Marta had to urgently speak to him right now and he put the phone in my hand," the woman explained kindly and I nodded, made sense but was still weird.
"Oh, I see. Then just have him call me right back," I said then.

"All right, I'll tell him," the woman said and then I hung up. Weird situation.
It only took a few minutes before my phone rang again and I was just about to go home.

"Hi Cora, sorry Marta wanted to discuss something important about the performance today", but that was Damiano. When I heard his voice I immediately smiled, "It's okay, no problem. Who was the woman I spoke to?" I asked curiously.

"My make-up artist, Sarah.", the answer came very quickly, "Ah ok", I said and heard his soft laugh on the other end of the line, "What's so funny?", I asked.

"Oh nothing," he still sounded amused, "Who did you think she was?" he then asked.
"I don't know, your affair?", I asked wryly and smirked, "No seriously I was just wondering."
"What are you doing right now?" asked Damiano after laughing for a moment.

"I'm walking Chili, she's been squealing all morning, I think she misses you," I watched the little dog who actually looked quite happy at the moment.

"She's used to us being out and about, besides, she has you. I'd trade places with her if she's up for it," I laughed when he said that, "I don't know if her lyrics are as convincing as yours, but she certainly has the voice."

Damiano told me about how he and the others had met many fans in Berlin last night and had taken photos. I had seen some of them on Instagram.

"I told Sophia to send me photos and videos of the performance," I told Damiano. "What is your set list now?" I asked him about the songs the band was going to play tonight.

He enumerated the list, "Not Coraline?", I asked after he had finished.
"We've never played that song live," Damiano replied, I hadn't known that.
"Oh really?", I asked surprised, "Yeah, it would feel weird I think", he said honestly and I thought about it. Maybe it was similar to my song Sorry, I had never wanted to publish it or play it in front of people.

"I think I know what you mean," I said, "Anyway, I'll be waiting eagerly for Sophia's messages when I'm out with your mum and Alice," I said to change the subject.

"Oh right I completely forgot that you were going out," Damiano said, "Don't let Alice talk you into drinking more than is good for you, I'm telling you she's just like Sophia," he warned me and I had to grin, "Don't worry, I can take care of myself."
"Mhm, sure," he said wryly and I had to grin again, "Don't underestimate me, Damiano David.", I instructed him."Never," he said."I hope so"

"I miss you," he said out of the blue and my heart leapt again.
"I miss you too," I sighed and kicked a small stone away with my foot, which Chili immediately chased after.

"The worst thing is that it's only been one day. In the last few weeks I've got too used to waking up in your arms," I then added.

We talked on the phone for quite a while, but at some point Damiano hung up because he had to go with the others to an interview they were giving at a radio station in Berlin somewhere.
