"Izzie, seriously, it's always so crowded in here," Meredith sighed as she shifted her feet together, trying to stay warm in the cold October air. "Can't we just go somewhere else tonight?"

"No, Mer, we've been in this line forever and we're about to get in. We're not leaving."

"You do know we should probably be sleeping."

"You know you want to dance."

"I want to drink," Meredith sighed as the reached the door of The Cabin and the bouncer let them in to the already crowded bar even though it was still early in the night.

Izzie was probably right. Izzie was probably completely right. It had been a hell of a long week at work and as much as she wanted to sleep, blowing off steam with alcohol and dancing would probably be a better idea. Bed was definitely tempting but this was good, this was good that she was out with a friend instead of being the hermit that most surgical interns turned into. She just needed to forget about the week she had had.

"It's crazy in here," Izzie sighed.

"I told you it would be."

"Yeah, yeah," Izzie sighed as she looked around the crowded bar. "So...drinks or dancing first?"

"Drinks, Izz, obviously drinks," Meredith giggled as she headed toward the bar, trusting Izzie to follow her. She didn't even usually go the Cabin. Usually her and Cristina stuck to the quieter bars, the ones where you didn't have to yell over the loud din to be heard. But Cristina was on call tonight and Izzie had insisted that they come here. So here she was, in an overly crowded bar where she might be forced to dance and who knows what else. But at least she was out.

"Fine, but we're dancing," Izzie nodded, looking longingly at the dance floor.

She was never going out with Izzie again.

"Tequila, first, we're having tequila."

She noticed him for the first time as she approached the bar. The dark curls pulled her in, or maybe it was the warm laugh. It was something, something made her look at the guy with the sharp blue eyes and smile slightly. Hot, he was definitely hot.

There was the possibility that tonight might not be a total waste.

"You're not going to get really drunk are you?" Izzie frowned. "Because I want to dance and if you're about to pass out it won't actually be that much fun."

"One shot, Izz," Meredith rolled her eyes.

"Good, one shot," Izzie nodded as Meredith leaned against the bar, trying to grab the attention of the bartender.

"Maybe two."

"Mer..." Izzie sighed, as Meredith ordered her first shot. "She looks like Callie."

"What?"

"The bartender, she looks like Callie."

"She kind of does," Meredith nodded as she shot back the tequila, feeling eyes on her.

Blue eyes was looking at her. Or nice smile, she could probably call him nice smile, he definitely had a nice smile. And he was sipping at his drink and staring at her now. Completely staring at her and she was feeling kind of warm and tingly. Which was probably the tequila and had nothing to do with nice smile, blue eyes, dark curls that was staring at her with sex in his eyes. He definitely had sex in his eyes.

Tonight was not going to be a waste at all.

"Oh my god."

"What?" Meredith frowned, looking at her friend.

"Over there," Izzie breathed. "The two guys over there, on the couch, over there. Meredith...look over there."

"Where am I looking, Izz? There's a lot of couches."

"The guys, Mer. The two incredibly hot guys," Izzie groaned, pointing to the guy that had been staring at her moments before.

"Oh blue eyes," Meredith grinned.

"Blue eyes? You don't...you don't know who blue eyes is."

"He's the hot guy that's been checking me out since the moment we got here," Meredith giggled slightly. "I can't decide what to call him. Blue eyes. Or curly hair. Or maybe nice smile. Definitely nice smile."

"Derek Shepherd."

"How do you know his name?"

"How?" Izzie gasped. "How do you not know his name? He's...he's the star player for the Ottawa Senators. Or I mean, one of the stars because the team is kind of amazing this season but he's...Derek Shepherd."

"Oh..."

"And he's with Mark Sloan," Izzie breathed. "Mark is...god the man is like a Greek sex god or something. I heard they were best friends in real life. The news said he was and...Derek Shepherd and Mark Sloan are here."

Derek Shepherd.

Derek Shepherd was gorgeous. He was possibly the most gorgeous guy she had ever seen in her life. She was completely taken aback with how gorgeous he was. And there was something about his laugh that kind of took her places she wasn't even sure she wanted to be but it was a nice laugh. Everything about him seemed nice. Really nice. She had definitely been planning on taking advantage of that tonight.

He was looking at her again.

Yes, she had definitely been planning on getting him naked later on that night.

It was a damn shame she didn't sleep with hockey players.
