2. How To Work
I sigh, knocking on the door. I spent the rest of my classes trying to figure out this whole 'Moving to London' thing. I wait outside, bouncing on my toes. An elder lady passes by, eyeing me suspiciously. I wave happily. She scurries off with her dog.
The door swings open, revealing a man who seems to be in his late thirties. He grins widely, stepping aside to let me in. I gladly step in, dropped my book bag on the floor beside the door. The man locks the door behind him, walking towards me.
"You must be the famous Zayn Malik from Bradford. I've heard a lot about you, Malik..." He says, rubbing his chin in a thoughtful way. Not knowing what to do, I give him an awkward smile. He chuckles. "You're the kind of guy I want my daughter to be dating."
"You have a daughter? Is she a girly kind of girl? If not, I'd be glad to date her," I joke. He chuckles, nodding his head. You might notice how drug dealers do their business. It always starts off chilled but usually ends up downhill.
"Yes, she goes to Charles Pepe as well," Javier says.
"Maybe I've met her," I shrug.
"Anyway, let's talk business." And this is usually the point where everything starts going downhill. "Some of my workers came from Bradford as well. I've heard a lot about you. One recently informed me on how you quit. I must say, I like how you work, Malik." Javier grins.
"Eh, I have my ways," I say, falling back onto on of the couches.
"I'll have my assistant help you around. And, by the way, never try to top her, she gets a little competitive. Well, what can I say, she's my little rebel. She always wants to be my number one worker," Javier chuckles.
Mr. Chase heads upstairs. Low murmurs soon float down the stairs. I furrow my eyebrows. She? Does he have his own personal prostitute after I kissed Ellie, I honestly don't plan on seeing another on. On second thought, they might be really hot...
I'm snapped out of my amazingly hot thoughts when I hear the pitter-patter of feet coming down the stairs. The first thing I see are black combat boots. Shrugging it off, I lay back on the couch. I'm pulled out of my dreamy state when I hear a dramatic gasp.
"You're B's new worker?" I look up at the person who spoke, my eyes widening. I shoot up from my seat on the couch, towering over the person in front of me. "He hasn't stopped talking about you all day long!"
"Is Daddy's little girl jealous?" I taunt, an evil glint flashing through my eyes. Maxxon growls up at me, her face inches away from my own. I growl down at her, nearing her a bit. Our noses are almost touching.
Someone lets out an obvious cough, making Maxxon's eyes snap over to me. Mr. Chase stands at the stairs, leaning against the railing. He eyes me before walking over to us. I step away from Maxxon instantly.
"I don't want you to be more than friend's with my daughter, Malik. I see you two met," He says.
"Dad, it's fine. This kid isn't gonna be replacing me anytime soon," Maxxon growls.
"Mr. Chase, you just said you'd like guys like me to date your daughter," I smirk.
"I'd never date someone who would pull me away from my dad and the family business," Maxxon says, stepping aside. She suddenly smirks, crossing her arms over her chest. "Besides, I want to date a guy who's tougher than me."
"Are you implying a little girl like you is tougher than someone like me? Babe, you've got it all wrong. I want a girl just as tough as me. Not one who can't protect herself, " I say, a devious smirk making it's way to my lips.
