28. Niall's Princess

 Maxxon Chase's P.O.V. :

"Do I really have to wear this?"

"I accidentally told her you were a model, so yeah."

   "I don't even look like a model!"

"Max, really? You're constantly checking yourself out, you have long legs, and let's not forget your facial structure. Do you even realize the pain I am in? My 'girlfriend' is almost taller than me! Do you realize how awkward this makes me feel? No, you don't!" Niall exclaims.

"You are so lucky we're friends, Niall."

   "I know."

"Hello, I'm Max. I am in my third year of college. I am studying socialism and journalism. I met Niall at a bank. He was dating someone then, but he recently broke up with her and confessed his undying love for him. I am a Burberry model and have fans. I also like food --"

"Wait, wait, wait!" Peyton calls out, stopping me fro my speech. "Niall's girlfriend, Sadie, already knows you, Max! She'll probably know that he's lying!" Peyton sighed, pinching the bridge of her button nose. Niall and I share a knowing look, shoveling potato chips into our hungry lips. Peyton looks up from her clip board, a smile creeping onto her face. "Yes, yes! This is exactly what you need to do! Share from the same bags of food or spoons, or whatever!"

"Sometimes, I forget your dad is a movie director. 'Coz you are bossy as fuck," Niall says, loudly crunching his chips. I nod in agreement. Peyton glowers, dismissing the rude comment and continuing to lecture us on how to act all couple-like. What she doesn't know is that Niall pretends to be my boyfriend when creepy stalkers try hitting on me.

"Let's try this one more time," Peyton says, gesturing for me to stand up. I do as told, 'coz I'm a goody-two-shoes. Sounds about right. Peyton fixes my white denim jacket, rolling the sleeves up to my elbows. If you're wondering what outfit I was complaining about earlier, here's a brief description. A white tank top tucked into the high waisted black and white striped skirt that hugs my curves, a white denim jacket, and white flats. Peyton forced me to straighten my hair in the mall's bathroom while she debated what kind of necklace to wear. She ended up choosing three gold chains that hung right under my boobies. But I couldn't complain.

"Hi, I'm Maxxon Chase, Niall's old best friend and new girlfriend. I'm in my third year of college, studying socialism and journalism. I comforted Niall after his break up, where he confessed his love for me. I've always felt the same way, but never wanted to interfere with his relationship. I'm so glad Ni-Bear and I are dating."

"That was the worst one yet! Max, you need to really sell it here. When you talk, put more enthusiasm into your voice. You sound like a dying walrus with that attitude. So, come on, prep it up a bit. Niall, that was terrible, right?" Peyton says, looking over at Niall. He shakes his head, rapidly blinking. His eyes widen before going back to normal sizes.

"She had me going there for a second."

Peyton smacks her forehead, sitting back down. I clear my throat. The problem is, when I'm about to begin my speech, someone behind me shrieks. I cover my ears, hating the sound of high-pitched squeals.

"Niall? Is that you?" Sadie exclaims from behind me. Niall nods, standing up. "It's been so long since I've last seen you!" Long my ass, bitch. Who you think you tryin'a fool? I'm put this on my blog, bitch. What chu gone do 'bout it now, hm? "How have you been?" Sadie asks Niall, grabbing his elbow in 'friendly' manner.

"I'm good, thanks, Sadie. I'm just hanging out with my fri -- girlfriend." Niall's attention flickers back to me, a grin forming on his adorable features. I smile back, trying to come off as the shy girl Niall makes me to be. Niall strides over to me, tangling our fingers together. I grin down at our entwined fingers, the color contrasting.

"Oh," Sadie fumes, a hint of surprise in her voice. Her eyebrows shoot up. She quickly covers up her emotions, eyes flickering behind us. An evil grin forms on her face. "Oh, I'm just hanging out with my boyfriend, Kyle. Come here, babe!" She exclaims, waving at someone behind us. Not a moment later, a tall tan guy walks towards her, looping his arm with hers.

He's taller than Niall with sandy blonde hair and glowing, orange skin. He has the kind of smile the people in Miami have; attractive and undeniably sexy. Everyone in Miami -- Heck, Florida -- is super sexy. All together, Kyle pulls off the sexy surfer look. And I can tell from a mile away, Niall is jealous.

"Hello, nice to meet you," I smile, sticking a hand out. Kyle shakes it, sending me a flirtatious wink. I choose to ignore it, turning my head to meet Niall's pleading blue eyes. He's panicking! Do something, fake girlfriend! His eyes practically scream at me. I gently push a stray piece of hair out of his face, boop-ing his nose. Niall smiles in relief.

"Well, let's have some formal introduction, yes?" Sadie suggests. You can tell she's trying to find an excuse where I mess thsi fake girlfriend thing up. And knowing me, I probably will. I admit, I'm not the best at acting.

"I'm Max, Niall's old best friend and new girlfriend. I've always liked Niall, but he had a relationship. I would never interfere with Niall's relationships; It would be wrong," I say, emphasizing the word. Better pull this innocent thing off. "I was helping Niall through his break up, when he accidently admitted he liked me. I was excited to be dating such a sweet boy --"

"Alright, let's stick to personal life, sweet heart," Sadie spits. Somehow, we all had walked towards a table. And Peyton had lurked into the shadows. Creep. I nodded, sitting down on the chair Niall pulled out for me. I thank him, allowing him to push me in. We hold hands on the table just to make it more believable.

"Tell them about your modeling job, princess," Niall encourages.

"Wait, what?" Sadie interrupts me. You know, Sadie, it is extremely rude to interrupt twice. Niall looks at her in confusion. "I thought you only called people you really liked princess?" She asks Niall. Niall shrugs.

"I really like Max. She's the light to my world," Niall smiles, giving my hand a tight squeeze.

"No! You've only started dating, it can't be possible to love someone that quick!" Sadie exclaims, shooting up from her seat. "I'm sure you're still not ready to love her yet. I bet this all some fake set up to make me jealous. Isn't it?" Sadie spits, looking between us. I look over at Niall, giving him a look only he would understand. "Prove you're dating!" Sadie shrieks.

I shrug my shoulders, turning in my seat to face Niall's confused face. I place a hand on his shoulder, gently squeezing it. I carefully rub circles on Niall's neck, filling the chills rise on his neck. He's anxious like me.

   Alright, hold the phone.

Niall and I may be best buddies and shit, and we might pretend to be each others lovers when annoying people come, but no. We have never, ever, ever kissed for real. It's always been light cheek kisses. Or, on occasion, a small love bite to prove it.  But it has never been lip-locking. Ever. And this was scary.

I lean forward, watching as Niall's blue eyes flutter shut. I follow his movements, waiting to feel his lips against mine. I always pictured Niall's lips to be rough, considering I've never seen him use chap stick. Ever. So you can imagine my reaction when I felt his velvet soft lips. I was like whoa! this guy has really soft lips!

   Sadie falls into Kyle's arms.

   Niall pulls away, grinning.

And out of the corner of my eye, I see Zayn drop his shopping bag on the floor.
