"Are you sure about this, pet?" Daniela hesitantly eyes the closed doors behind you, and you can't help but smile at her. Seeing this gentle side of her is still new to you. Usually she's flirtatious and cunning, not to mention incredibly playful.

On a daily basis she'll come to you and beg for you to play with her, or at least do something to cure her short attention span. Albeit it doesn't take much for you to drop everything and take her hand. Seeing her smile is more than enough to persuade you.

"Yes, Dani, I'm sure."

"It's not cold?"

"I promise. It's scorching outside, even the breeze is warm. It'll be okay." She frowns faintly. What she really wants to do is pull you back and do literally anything else. But she's put it off for so long, she figured now would be the best time to cave and finally leave the castle with you.

Although it is mostly to shut you up, since you haven't stopped asking for a day out together since last summer when she kept on refusing. Denying you every time you asked. Even when you threw the classic puppy dog eyes and childish pouts into the mix.

Of course she had to ask her mother for permission, which was surprisingly easy to achieve. You had formed an entire speech for Daniela to recite word for word, and she had only reached about a quarter of the way when Alcina said yes.

"Wait-really?" You'd heard Daniela ask since you were hidden behind the door, listening in. Your presence nearby apparently boosted her confidence.

"Yes, dear. I trust [Y/n] and I think it will do you some good to go out and explore the grounds.
[Y/n], I'm certain you will take care of my daughter, yes?"

"Oh," you then cleared your throat and poked your head around the door. "Yes, of course."

"Ready?" Your gentle voice pulls the vampire from her thoughts. A slight nod of her head and you open the doors, stepping outside into the blazing heat.

First, she extends her arm to watch the sun drench her pale skin. Then she does the same with her other hand. Chuckling, you take her left one and guide her over the threshold, hearing her uneasy whine.

"See?" You habitually play with her hands.

"Wow. It's actually kind of nice outside."

"Are you just saying that for me or do you actually mean that?"

"Both."

Grinning, you softly shake your head. "Come on, we have some exploring to do."

"Yay." Comes her unenthusiastic response. But a fond laugh escapes her when you shoot a playful frown over your shoulder.
