South. That's where the mission went as soon as the lycans swarmed your team. Everywhere you look something terrible is transpiring. The gunfire never ends, nor do the jarring snarls or horrid sounds of teeth gnashing together.

You draw your gun and fire at the beasts clambering up the hill to sink their claws into you. They leap into the air, triple the size of your small frame, landing in an anything but graceful manner with crying wounds peppered across their torsos.

Chris returns to where you're situated beside the aircraft. "Where the hell did these things come from?" He grits, hurling a bloody knife into the head of a lycan as he stands on the edge. A quick observation of the village dressed in turmoil and mayhem. Things really did take a turn for the worse.

"Boss there's too many!" Lobo states over the comms. You bite the metal ring from a hand grenade and toss it at the mass of lycans clawing up the side of the hill.

"I'd be more useful down there. I can help just send me in." You receive a look from the alpha of the squad, one that has his brows scrunched together. It's not the first time you've asked, albeit discreetly begged, him to tag you in and he's declined. You know better than to expect anything other than disappointment.

"What?"

"I can diffuse the bomb. This is what I've been training for I can do it. A clear path is all I need."

"No, I need you here. Take the chopper into the air, I can't risk the lycans getting to it."

"But sir Iー"

"Chopper! Now."

You decide to bite your tongue, obeying orders by jogging back over to the helicopter. Once you're seated in the pilots seat you ascend towards the sky, successfully out of the reach of flying lycans. Still chaos unfolds.

Raised voices merge together over the comms before they're cut off entirely. Hordes of lycans trample over one another and shove each other aside, the element of control slipping through their claws as they relentlessly attempt to reach your team. Everyone is divided. Separated and alone.

"Man the chopper." You mutter to Erik who nods and take your place. Your ankles lock around the thick rope that you glide down on, landing on a rooftop of a house that shields a handful of cowering families. A flash grenade implodes to distract the lycans surrounding Chris.

"Tex what the hell do you think you're doing?" He bellows over the commotion. You skilfully reload your guns and fire at a lycan after it launches into the air. The body drops by Chris's feet with a heavy thud, not that he pays any attention to it. You always did catch his eye.

"Your job!" You snap.

Between spurts of static and crackled gunshots a voice breaks through on your earpiece. "Canine's down!" The alert prompts you to scan the entrance to the underground caves. Chris follows your longing gaze.

"Tex don't even think about it. Canine I'm on my way."

"We could use some help over here!" Umber Eyes yells. It diverts your boss's attention and you use the opportunity to hop across the rooftops and jump down, sprinting between lycans too busy tearing down a wall to notice you slipping through the narrow entrance. A frustrated growl rumbles in your ear.
