A grunt tumbles from the blonde when her body flies through the door and she rolls into a wall. Daniela takes her place before you and aims her sickle, but your forearm meets hers above your head.

Opening your palm and gently blowing, sparkles cascade over the vampire who retreats and shakes her head side to side. A shimmering white glow washing over her skin.

"Enough games." Cassandra grits, charging towards you. She brings the sickle above your head, the clink causing her head to turn. The blade hooked in her sister's.

"Daniela?" Her brows knit together. The metal scrapes together and the weapon clatters across the floor, leaving Cassandra frozen when you both hurry out of the room hand in hand.

With a flick of your fingers the doors swing open, granting passageway for the chilling air that draws a whimper from the redhead. You gently cup her cheek, smiling warmly as the veins in your hand shimmer.

No longer weakened by the brisk temperature, Daniela steps over the threshold and gazes curiously at the outside world. Her eyes light up when snowflakes land in her fiery locks, holding out her palm to catch some. She sends you a gleeful smile.

"No!" Alcina booms. "What are you doing with my daughter? Where are you taking her?!"

Without missing a beat you take her hand in yours and pull her closer, willing the doors to slam shut as you vanish into thin air. Alcina tears the doors open, her jaw dropping as the cloud of stardust rains down before her.

Your eyes follow Daniela as she wanders around the cosy hideout, gazing curiously at the pictures pinned to the walls.

"I only did this because I love you. I mean well. I know it doesn't seem that way. But I had to bring you here—I needed to get you alone so I could tell you the truth."

"What do you mean?" She smiles, wearing a look of awe on her pale face. It fractures your heart to know that this is only because of your hex. If you were to reverse its effects she'd no doubt rip your head off without a second thought.

"We were together. A long, long time ago. Before Miranda and her experiments. She tore us apart; took us from each other. Made you forget me because she didn't want her family to be distracted from her plan. But she couldn't wipe my memories. My powers wouldn't let her. That didn't stop her from trying to keep me from the village when she found out."

Her head tilts. You swallow the lump in your throat, blinking the burning tears away.

"We don't have a lot of time. Miranda will figure out I'm here if she hasn't already been informed by your mother. I can restore your memories, but it's gonna hurt. And I'm only going to do it if I have your consent."

"You have it."

"No. The real you. Without the hex."

"But I'm not under a—" she breathes in when your fingertip touches the side of her head, removing the spell.

You take a few steps back with your head held low, eyes struggling to lift from the floor. You can picture the look of anger on her face. She searches the desk and grabs the sharpest object in sight, growling as she shoves you against the wall.

"Wait! Please." Your voice trembles.

"What the hell did you do to me?" She grits.

"I knew you wouldn't come willingly because you have no idea who I am. The hex was the only way I could get you alone. I didn't want to hurt you or your family I swear."

"You're lying. Everything you said is a lie."

"No. Listen to my heart, D."

Her jaw clenches. "I wouldn't just let Miranda take my memories."

"You didn't have a choice."

"Prove it. I don't care if it hurts."

You bring your small hand to her cheek, letting your memories of pastimes together flood through her mind again. Her eyes become wide at the images of the two of you.

Morning strolls through the field hand in hand, chasing one another through the village under the sun, exploring the castle on rainy days, lying together underneath the stars, comforting her after nightmares, sewing your clothes together after foolish humans tried to fight back.

She pushes away and stumbles backwards, eyes frozen. The scissors slip from her hand and thump against the wooden floorboards.

"No." She drops to her hands and knees. A tear slips down your cheek. "No—I wouldn't just—[Y/n]?"

"I'm here." You push away from the wall to kneel in front of her. You cup her face and brush her hair behind her ears, saddened by the way she grips onto your wrists.

"I wouldn't just forget you. How could I just forget you like that? I almost killed you."

"It was all Miranda."

Her eyes fall shut. forehead resting against yours. "I'm sorry." When she apologises again and again you shush her and kiss her forehead, tracing your thumbs over her smooth skin.

Growls and roars echo from outside. You sigh and murmur, "it's not safe here. I cast a spell over this place to hide it but they have my scent."

"The castle." Daniela stands and pulls you to your feet. "I have to tell Mother. She can help us."

"Are you sure?"

She cradles the side of your face. "I let you go once before. I won't ever let you go again. Miranda will pay for this."
