3rd Person

After that night, Mark had never mentioned the kiss, he'd never thought it necessary or important. And things went on just as they used to be, the inseparable pair floating around the campus, simply enjoying each other's company.

It was their lunch break, and the rest of the guys were off somewhere else, Mark and Jackson found themselves getting their lunch and finding a nice big tree to sit under to eat, both just feeling like getting out of the crowded cafeteria. They settled themselves down, and began to munch happily on their food.

"You know I'm hungry if I'm enjoying the school's food," Jackson joked between bites of his sandwhich.

"Oh come on, it's not thaaaat baaaaddd~" Mark replied, drawling out his words for emphasis even though even he knew they weren't true.

"Yes because that mystery meat they served yesterday was oh so delicious!" The taller retorted sarcastically, earning a laugh from the other.

"Oh come on, it's not that bad, at least it's edible," Mark reasoned.

"Everything's edible if you try hard enough!" Jackson replied, causing Mark to break into a fit of laughter.

"You're such an idiot Jackson," The older said between laughs.

"If I was an idiot you wouldn't hang out with me," Jackson said.

"Hm that's not true, maybe I like idiots~" Mark said, mehronging.

"Hmm you do?" The other replied, his eyebrow raised.

"Mhm," Mark answered.

"And would that make me your favoriteeeee idiottt?" The younger cooed playfully, a teasing grin on his face, another chuckle emitting from Mark.

"Yup, my favoriteeee~" Mark cooed back at him, leaving a playful peck to his cheek.

"Well it's such an honor to know that I'm your favorite, among allllll the idiots," Jackson finished, patting his friends head lightly.

They both continued to eat, Mark humming softly to a random tune, Jackson tapping his fingers along his thigh.

"Hey Mark?" He said, getting the other's attention.

"Hm?" Mark replied shortly, looking up to his friend.

"Have you ever had a girlfriend?" Jackson asked his friend curiously. "I mean I'm constantly talking about this girl and that girl, but I've never stopped to ask you about your own love life," He explained a bit, his head tilted curiously.

A red blush came onto Mark's cheeks. Of course he didn't have a girlfriend, he wasn't even ATTRACTED to girls, but of course, his dear Jackson had no idea about that, and he didn't intend to tell him. The short red-headed boy just shook his head shyly.

"Really? A great guy like you doesn't have a girlfriend? That's surprising really, I'm surprised there aren't chicks lining up for miles to be with ya," Jackson said with a nod as his eyes looked over his small friend. "And you're a real cutie too.." He said, trailing off a bit, almost as if he was in thought.

It was obvious the reason why girls didn't flock to Mark, he was quiet. Or he had been at least. Now that he'd started hanging out with Jackson and his buddies, he found himself talking with people a lot more often, it was nice really, just getting to know someone new every once in a while. Sure, he'd talked to a few girls, but he didn't even nearly see them as romantic interests, just friends like the rest of the people he'd talked to.

"W-well thanks.." Mark mumbled quietly, his cheeks a similar shade to that of his hair. At Mark's words, Jackson was snapped out of his little moment of thought.

"I should set you up with someone." He said as he looked over the shorter male's face. Mark's eyes widened a bit and he quickly shook his head.

"N-no Jackson.." He disagreed. He didn't want to be set up with anyone, especially not a female someone.

"But think about how cool it'd be! We could go on double dates! It'd be fun!" Jackson said, clearly excited, Mark just shook his head again.

The thought of going on double dates with Jackson and some chick absolutely repulsed him. I mean it'd be pointless really, since he would in no way enjoy the girls being there in a romantic way. Honestly, hearing about Jackson's endeavors with other girls had been bothering him a bit lately, just hearing about him showing affection to them urked him. To have to see it in person would be torture. But he'd never admit to Jackson or to himself why.

"P-please don't Jackson..." Mark said, shaking his head,

"Just once Markkkk~ And then I'll never make you do it again, please?" He cooed, a cute look on his face. Mark still refused. "Come onnn, my girlfriend's got this friend I'm sure you'd love, she's just your type, she's really quiet and cute," He reasoned and Mark let out  a soft sigh.

"Just this once, that's it." Mark said quietly, giving into his friend. He figured that if the girl was as quiet as he was, maybe it wouldn't go all too terribly, it'd just be quiet. And he could just ignore Jackson and his date as much as he could.

"Yay! Thanks Markieeeeee~" Jackson said, a bright grin on his face as he hugged his friends. "This is why I love youuuu~"

Mark let out a little chuckle, hugging his friend lightly. "Love you too Jackie~" He replied with a small smile, knowing that those words would forever be meant in a just friendly way.
