3rd Person
It was the day of the date, the double date. The one Mark had dreaded since the day he'd stupidly agreed to go through with it. He didn't want to be stuck with some girl he'd never met watching his best friend flirt with one of his many girlfriends. But nevertheless, for Jackson's sake, he was still going.
He'd dragged himself out of bed that particular Saturday morning, millions of excuses he could give to get him out of going, but he'd convinced himself that he had to. Or else Jackson would bother him for a lifetime about it. He got himself dressed in a white t-shirt, some black skinny jeans, and he pulled a jean jacket on as well. Mark ran his fingers through his long red hair, ruffling it lightly. He liked letting it grow out a bit, suited him well.
He stepped outside his house just as Jackson pulled up to pick him up. They were meeting the two girls at the mall, they'd get something to eat and walk around. As Mark slipped into the car, Jackson began to spew all kinds of "tips" at him about the date. Honestly, every word out of Jackson's mouth on that car ride was ridiculous, than again, what can you expect when you're getting advice for a date from a total flirt. Mark just nodded as Jackson rambled, and they soon arrived at the mall.
They two boys went inside and Jackson immediately spotted the two girls they were there to meet. As Mark looked over to them, he took a quick examination of them both. The first girl looked like she wanted to be a doll, her face coated with ounces and ounces of make up, her shirt a little too tight and her skirt a little too short, heels seemingly a foot tall. Mark assumed that was Jackson's girl, and he cringed at the thought.
The other girl looked a lot more reserved. She had a tank top on with a creme colored sweater overtop, she wore a pair of jeans that weren't too tight, but weren't baggy either. She wore a pair of cute black flats, that were simple, but suited her perfectly. Her long brown hair was pinned back from her face a little, and she wore minimal makeup. She was quite short. She looked nice, and you could tell she was just naturally pretty.
As the girls noticed the two guys the first girl's face lit up. "Oppa!" She cheered in an annoying high-pitched voice as she ran over to Jackson, wrapping her arm's around him in a strangling hug. He wrapped his arms right back around her and left a peck to her obviously bleached head of hair, which I honestly couldn't stand the sight of, so I turned to look at my date for the day.
The girl looked extremely embarrassed at her friend's actions, and I would've been too if I was her. She wore a small, shy smile and waved her hand at me slightly. "H-Hi, I'm Bae Joohyun, but I go by Irene, it's nice to meet you," She said in a soft tone.
"Well hi Irene, I'm Mark, it's nice to meet you too," I said with a soft smile. And the date began.
At first we all walked around together, the 4 of us. It wasn't all too bad, we looked at the stores, entering any yet. It'd been only a few minutes in when the annoyance began.
Jackson, being the flirt he was, always had to have some kind of skinship with that chick he was with, who's name I hadn't caught actually. Her hand in his, his arm around her waist, and that big grin always on his face. It bothered the smaller to no extent, and he knew he couldn't handle it for the whole time. And that was when he thought of something, they could split up, Jackson and his chick, Mark and Irene. Sure, Mark barely knew Irene, but she seemed like she'd be good company for the day, and she honestly didn't look too keen on watching her friend's constant flirting either.
"Hey, me and Irene are going to go look around, we'll meet up with you guys in a little while," Mark said, looking over to Irene who quickly nodded. And they were off.
The quiet set in between the two just shortly after they split off from the other pair, as both of them weren't the most social.
"My friend made me come here today.." Irene admitted. "I mean it's nothing against you, I'd just rather have stayed home to sleep or study or something.."
