Chapter 3 Katelyn's Play

Lucinda's POV

Me and Alex were walking around the neighborhood. Alex had met most of my friends except Aphmau cause she always seemed to work when we could stop by. We were walking by the neighborhood community center when I saw a poster for a play. "Hey Alex, why don't we stop by and see about this play." I suggested. 

"Sure I don't see why not." Alex said. We walked into the center and found the auditorium, where everyone seemed to get ready for the play. I saw Laurance and Dante talking. "Hey guys." I said.

"Hey Lucinda, you and Alex here to see the play?" Dante asked.

"Yeah, she wanted to check it out." Alex said.

"I know you wanted to check it out as well, besides I overheard your minor dilemma. I have just the answer for it." I said, pulling out a potion. I felt someone staring at me. "Lucinda, do you really need to go giving out potions to your friends?" Alex asked.

"Look, it's just one potion, and it's a little untested." I whisper to him. He gave me a worried look. "Are you sure it's okay for me to have this?" Laurance asked.

"Yeah, it's a little untested though." I said. 

"What does it do?" Laurance asked.

"When you throw it at a person, you'll change places with them." I said. 

"Cool thanks Lucinda." Laurance said. I smiled at him and nodded. We found a couple of seats and sat down to enjoy the play. When the play started, we enjoyed how Katelyn made it modern. The intermission was interesting since it was near the end, but that didn't make the play any less enjoyable. After the last curtain call, we watched as a potion was thrown onto the stage, hitting the person who was playing Juliette. She changed places with Laurance who ended up kissing the person playing Romeo. Everyone cheered as the twist happened. Laurance and the other guy started to yell about kissing the other. After the play we went and met with Katelyn and the other actors who particpated in the play. "Lucinda, Alex thanks for coming to the play did you guys enjoy it?" Katelyn asked.

"Of course we enjoyed itf, the modern rendition of the play that you made was amazing. Maybe next time I should play Juliette and let Alex be my Romeo." I said with a smile. 

"Come on Lucinda drop it." Alex said.

"Your no fun." I pouted.

"She's right though, it might be fun to do again." Katelyn said.

"No I never want to do that again." Garroth said.

"Same." Laurance agreed. 

"Hey Lucinda, who's this with you?" A raven haired woman asked.

"Hey Aphmau, this is Alex my current boyfriend." I said introducing Alex.

"Hi, I'm Aphmau." Aphmau said.

"I'm Alex." Alex said. 

"Alright everyone, let's head over to Olive Garden." Jeffory said. 

"Ooo~ Sounds like you're all going to have fun, can we join too?" I asked.

"Sure, but could you two support yourselves?" Jeffory asked.

"Of course we can." Alex smuggly said.

"Why so smug dear?" I asked. He looked at me and chuckled. "Sorry, yeah we can cover ourselves." Alex said. We headed out for dinner and enjoyed the time with our friends. "So Alex what do you do for work?" Aphmau asked.

"I'm a runic mage, so I take items and engrave runes onto them making clothes more durable is one of the many things I do." Alex explained. 

"That's super cool, what else can you do with your runes?" Katelyn asked.

"Well I engrave electric runes into our house we share and that helps with the electricy bill. I use fire or heat runes to help cook and keep food warm so that if we have to step away from the table we can come back to a nice hot meal." Alex said.

"What about you Lucinda~chan, what have you been doing for work?" Kawaii~chan asked.

"I work on selling potions, I recently join Alex's shop and we split the space between us." I said. 

"Wow it sounds amazing what you two do." Aphmau said.

"Eh, it's nothing speical." Alex said.

"That's not true babe, you're magic is something most people can't even attempt sometimes." I said. He chuckled before continuing to eat. We enjoyed dinner with my friends before we headed back home. "That was so much fun thank you for taking me to dinner with my friends." I said. He hugged me and kissed me. "It was no problem besides it looked like you wanted to go anyways." He said. I kissed him again before we headed upstairs and laid down in bed. We stayed up talking about the play, my friends, and what we would do tomorrow. After that I fell asleep.

Alex's POV

Lucinda finally fell asleep, I snuck out of bed and headed out to the garage. I found Lucinda's robes that she used while making potions. I started engraving some runes that would help boost her potion making. It took a few hours but I finished engraving the first set of suprise runes, the next one I started was some durability enchancement runes. Once I was finally done I headed to the backdoor only to see Lucinda standing by the door. "What're doing up?" She asked.

"Just needed to do a few things." I said. She pouted trying to get me to tell her. "Look it was a surprise for you." I said. She looked at me begging with her eyes. "Fine, I added a few runes to help your potion making robes." I said. She sighed and grabbed my hand pulling me inside, I closed the door before she dragged me upstairs. Once we were laying in bed again she wrapped her arms around me to make sure I didn't leave the bed again. I soon fell asleep in her arms.
